Our home form will always have us a top shree side.

Our away form would make us a bottom six side.

We nearly always pitch up around the 2nd to 5th spot.

The relative difference between us and the rest isn't much different - we're shite compared to before too.

Aberdeen - 5, 10, 11, 10, 4 (so far)
Motherwell - 9, 9, 3, 7, 1
St Johnstone - 5, 5, 8, 8, 3
Inverness - 6, 8, 9, 7, 1
Dundee Utd - 7, 5, 5, 5, 3
Hibs - 6, 4, 12, 7, 5

Hearts - 2, 4, 14, 7, 2

Obviously the time in the Championship is an anomaly for us and Hibs in 2014/15 (but check their record last season Titter) and there's been all those off-field issues to contend with. However, if allowing for that, the away record is shite and has been for some time. It's just as well Tynecastle genuinely is fortress for us, we'd struggle so badly otherwise. Monty LewLew

But this is genuinely a poor record. I guess none of those are vintage Hearts sides, but still...

It is baffling. What are Aberdeen doing differently from us? I don't know if playing in front of big crowds (for this league) at an intimidating Tynecastle and then having to go to places like Dingwall next game have an impact. Some sort of environmental come down.

This is a big part of it, I think. I genuinely can't remember a time (early 2005-06 aside) when we didn't consistently turn in drab, pish performances away from home. That goes for Levein, Sergio, Jefferies, Laszlo etc. as well as Neilson.

As for what Aberdeen are doing differently, they've got more width and pace in their team than us. Having someone like Hayes carrying the ball forward and threatening on the break prevents the home team from pushing up as much as they might. We're a pretty narrow, relatively slow team and tend to get bogged down in the middle of the pitch when teams push up on us (as they naturally do much more often at home). You need guys like Djoum and Walker to be up near the edge of the box to be effective.

Having more players who can create and score from nothing would also help, I think probably only Walker and fits that description out of the players we currently have fit. Watt is talented enough to be doing that for us but he seems brainless in a footballing sense.

3 away wins so far this season, only 4 last season Monty Chuckle

Looking back at least year, we really need 11/12/13 away wins on top of solid home form to win the league. It's a big ask but we've started well.

Last season at least two of the wins so far would have been draws or even losses.

Uche makes a huge difference as an outlet, he might not get as many goals as Lafferty did but he contributes much more overall. Uche wins physical battles, draws free-kicks and just unsettles opposition defenders. Lots of games last year was just pinging hopeful balls up to Laff with nothing coming from it, this season we look like scoring in every game (and have).

You want your main striker to be greedy. Can’t see him matching laffs total from last year but he brings so much more to the party.

I was really impressed watching Uche yesterday. He's insanely strong and has real skills. He absolutely terrifies defenders and Naismith is clearly loving playing behind him and cashing in on the chaos he creates. Fucking love that we have an intimidating strike force again.

After 7/8 years of having shite up front, he’s an absolute beast. I’d be looking to add a year to his contract the now.
