Monty Oh You

It's around now I book something up for the summer. Currently looking at one of the Greek Islands like Crete or Rhodes maybe. It's essentially a trip to chill the fuck out with the new girl and my wee lassie. Suggestions for a decent summer destination appreciated.

Where y'all going then?

Folks have rented a villa in ibiza in a month or so, so just had to pay flights and it'll be ten days of sitting by the pool. Can't even remember what town we're on the outskirts of, doesn't matter.

I loved crete when i went a few years back. Stayed here, https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Revi...Crete.html, and it was brilliant. The resort had more than enough that you didn't need to leave it when you didn't fancy it. There's a decent wee strip of restaurants and shops a short walk away for when you want lunch but can't be fucked, and the bus service is good when you can.

The island itself is beautiful and pretty varied by the time you reach the centre. There's a fuck ton of history, from pre-greek times, to greek times to early christianity. The food was cracking everywhere we went too. Can't speak highly enough of the island.

Away skiing in a few weeks, had a weekend in berlin, got 4 weddings in august, and using a week of the wife's annual leave up to go to them, one in Germany near weissbaden, then sussex, the borders, and fife. Anyway that means we need to decide on 2 weeks in summer, or one in summer and one in autumn. Think i'd prefer to just take a week and get two trips.

Going down to London in October, don't think I'll be having a proper summer holiday this year though. Might have a look at a city break to break up the year a bit.

Hoping to finally get down to the Sam Ford Fiord area this April.  Should find out what t he conditions are in the next few weeks.  Spectacular area for base jumping not that I'll be getting into any of that nonsense but I may try to coordinate it with some of these nutters if they're headed that way.

Just spent the week in Amsterdam there.

Heineken Experience whilst Hearts were getting hammered by Partick Thistle GodIsGod

Hopefully get away in the Summer to somewhere that has decent weather. Anyone been to Madeira? I get the impression it's full of old folk, but I can't hack going to Tenerife or Majorca to be surrounded by people's vile children and some family from a council estate in Liverpool.

That wee horse and cart simulator at the heineken brewery. Monty Chuckle

You could always go to a spanish island and not stay where vile children and scousers will go?

I think it might have changed since you last went - I was part of the 'brewing process' Wiggo Stood in a queue for the best part of two hours to stand on a moving floor and get sprinkled with water whilst some cheap production plays on a screen Snake

I'll have to look around, always thought these Spanish destinations had a fairly high chance of having to mingle with common-folk Queenie

But yeah, seriously, it was fairly tongue and cheek if you couldn't work it out. I am trying to find a Summer destination that isn't full of Little Englander scaffy types, though, so if you could let me know where you go then i'd know where to avoid Sound

I'm off to Lisbon for the weekend tomorrow with the lads. VanGaals Bitch

Taking my girlfriend to Depeche Mode in London this summer.

Nothing else planned but that could easily change if I fancy it/afford it.

Crete is terrific. Have a look at "Melidoni X Village" - have stayed there before and would thoroughly recommend. You'd need to rent a car, but you may well be doing that anyway?
