The odd thing is, wee Ruth will be the President of an independent Scotland one day. She needs shed of the Westminster toxicity more than anyone.

No.

Also; I find it hard to believe that a country where 50% of people would vote for Independence has no desire for an Independence referendum. It just doesn't make sense Vlad Shrug

It'll be better than Brexit. There's a rational economic argument. Either way, the democratic deficit is a compelling argument for independence. Greggy

Still nothing then.

Her party is on course for a hard Brexit with no EU deal, purely because of immigration.

Division and uncertainty.  Zlat The Scottish Tories should break away and re-brand as the christian democrats or something post Scottish Independence and be the soft right alternative to the social democratic parties.

I was unhappy post independence referendum, unhappy post Tory majority at Westminster and unhappy post Brexit. It was tough, toys were chucked out the pram, but we moved on and accepted it.

The unionists will have to now accept the fate that Scotland is about to go for it herself, there will be trouble ahead, but we can do it. I'd urge people to dare to buy into it, even for a second. The water is nice over here, you are welcome to take a dip. Fart Smelly

The UK's sovereignty was never threatened by the EU. All this shit about MAEK UR OWN LORS and TEK BAK CONTROL was fodder for idiots. I'm comfortable with the rationale for my inevitable Yes vote. Greggy

Scotland is a junkie right now, we're surviving from something that's also killing us. Westminster may be keeping us alive, but she will never become self-sufficient until she goes cold turkey.

Before you descend into full victim mode. Do you think a soft right party led by Ruth Davidson would have a great chance of leading the country post independence, once we have to look at our own fiscal policy and develop business?

Within PR, there could be big compromises between the major parties, the infrastructure is there for some interesting coalitions and horse trading post SEXIT.

Go ahead then, what reasons do we have to stay in the UK when the inevitable hard brexit comes to pass? England will still trade with us, they can't afford not to after pissing off the rest of Europe.

Thanks to the little Englanders we are in for an absolute shitshow over the next few years either way Monty LewLew  Might as well face it standing with a saltire and a smile than under Theresa May's leopard print heel  Monty Oh Well

identity politics = Scottish internationalism vs British nationalism

Democratic deficit = We never voted for Tories, we never voted for Brexit, we never voted for a hard brexit with no EU trade deal

Economic argument = Britain is leading us down a route of being in opposition to the EU, using London as a tax haven for dodgy investors - that sounds shite for the rest of us so lets bail.

I'm not dyed in the wool either way. The current setup clearly isn't working for most folk outside of the M25. I would be willing to vote yes if it made sense.

With that said, I'll repeat my earlier question, what is the economic argument for independence?
