I'm going to be pre ordering tomorrow as I've just cracked my screen on my 6s. Advantages of the X over the 8?

Just realised the x isn't out for a while yet. It'll just have to be the 8

The 8 is just a faster 7, should really be the 7S. The X is the actual "upgrade" and does away with the home button, and the finger print scanner that they've been pushing for years and will return in their next phone. I wouldn't buy either.

Ordered the 8+ for next week after looking at how good the camera is on the 7+. This will be the best £800 I've spent all year

Screen to body ratio is shocking for such an expensive phone. Can get the same size screen in a much smaller body, you'd have thought they'd do that at least.

Should wait till the X comes along, or, save a couple of hundred and just get the 7. For the sake of wireless charging, I couldn't justify the extra...

This is why the 8+ seems like the one to go for, though my 7 is fine so i doubt I'll get either for now. Might get the watch as it looks dece- gps, music, swimproof. Maybe nto groundbreaking but tied to your phone and existing apple account pretty handy. https://www.strava.com/apple-watch?hl=en-GB Saves you buying a garmin or whatever to track pace and heart rate, obviously not a power meter but still would do a job.

If it's good enough for Acey, Begbie and Vlad-Stupid then it's good enough for me In all seriousness it's only £200 more but it'll be worth more than the 7 in a years time when I punt it and the tech boy assured me it'll be quicker, sharper and better quality of picture than the 7

What part makes it the one to go for? It's a bit quicker and has wireless charging. Had wireless charging on my 3 phones prior to the 7+ and have never used it. From the rumours, the 8 only exists because they couldn't get the X to the point they wanted. They're releasing 2 subpar models rather than the one they really wanted (the X with TouchID in the screen). I'd just be waiting the 12 months for the next more polished iteration.

If the 7 was £500 and the X is a grand it's a no brainer tbh. I've got a 6 and due an upgrade so will be seeing what contract prices are like for the X. Liking the watch though.

I mean the one to go for if you were wanting one of the new models. My 7 isn't up for renewal so I wont be getting one just now.

I'm due an upgrade on mine just now as the 7 was gifted to me, so could go for one of these new ones. Absolutely nothing about them makes me want to triple my monthly bill though. They'll be forced to reduce the price of the 7 a fair bit, so I'd be going for one of them if I was desperate to have an iPhone.

Going to wait until next year I think, my 6s is working just fine the now and nothing I've seen for either 7, 8 or X makes me want to change it

Probably right tbh - though having just dropped my 7+ down the bog, I may very well be going for a new phone sooner than expected... Quite like the FaceID thing, but again, the price hike is a bit steep just for something that scans your pus every time you need to use it. |
