My contract is up this month and looked into getting the iPhone13, for the 256gb phone, unlimited calls and data plus the entertainment package I was looking at £81 per month on vodafone.
I find it hard to believe that folk would pay more than £35-40 a month for a contract these days given the amount of competition out there

It seems you pay for the phone and sim separately these days so that was the cost split over 24 months.
Not a chance I'll be paying that.
My current phone(iPhone XR) is in very good condition for being nearly 3 years old, but my contract extras and loyalty discount were removed 3 months ago as I neared the end of my deal. Was paying around £40 per month for unlimited calls/text/data plus spotify premium, Felt that was a fair deal but it was around the top end of my budget tbh

Had avoided apple for years but succumbed to a second hand iPhone 5 in 2016 and stuck with them ever since, had an SE for 2 years and a XR for nearly 3 years.
What are folk paying for contracts/phones on here?
Bought a galaxy s10+ for £500. Get 2gig and 200 mins for a pound tied in to my virgin media package. Usually keep my phone for 3 years, and I'll get a couple hundred selling it then, so it comes in at below a tenner a month.
Would need to look at the contract if I wasn't on WiFi 90% of the time.

Ray what network are you on?
Never had an issue. I'd guess they piggyback someone, so if you were thinking about lumping in with them find that out first and see how that fits with where you live/work.
Aye that's always a concern, my mum is on the Tesco network which I think is piggybacked from o2. I'm happy with Vodafone's coverage but definitely going to explore my options.

I've always been EE - always shop around when my contracts up and they always match/beat it with the loyalty bonus etc.
Given the move coming up with work it's a saving grace that I went SIM only - should be able to take the handset with me and get it unlocked over there.
