The pitch was eventually looking sparkling after the concert though so dunno if that can still be blamed now?

Surely the consultants who install the pitch would’ve said that we can’t do that with it being new if it was going to cause long term damage? For me it will probably just come down to having the wrong people in the job. Afaik the people who maintained our abysmal pitch before the upgrade are still doing it now. Not going to call for a groundsman’s heid but I think they simply just need to be doing a better job or getting someone in external to help with managing it if this is how bad it’s going to get.

I have been reading kb and some guy who says he knows the groundsmen is saying it’s all down to overuse.  I was under the impression these pitches could stand up to frequent use (pitches in England will get used a lot more than ours with the amount of fixtures they play) so is it a case we’ve went all out on the fancy new pitch but don’t have the resources to keep it in good nick?

Not wanting to go town a Cammo Toe rabbit hole here, but how many “extra” games have been played on it? The woman’s team have been playing on it recently, we’ve had the under Scotland U21’s on it and who knows who else has been playing on it recently.

It’s a farce that we’ve spent a fortune on a new pitch and then it’s looking fucked already. Typical Hearts, penny wise and pound foolish. Monty Oh Well

Yeah the games you said have been mentioned and apparently we train on it once a week?

No idea tbh just reading it from there

Levein had the team training on the pitch the day before any game, home or away. So, while we've maybe had 8 home games this season, the pitch has already been used a good 40 times this season.

That concert will have been seriously terrible for the soil. Massive amount of wear and tear to put the pitch under. They don't have big signs asking you to stay off the pitch for no reason  Monty Oh Well

But the whole pitch is fucked. The concert only used half the pitch

I thought hybrid pitches were specifically designed to withstand more use than grass ones?

Maybe it’s the type of plastic they’ve used.

It’s called, “Grass”

£1 million pound. Add it to the expenditure wall of shame of the £7 million + overspend on the stand and the 80 odd signings. Horrific mismanagement. The amount of money Budfe and Levein have wasted has been staggering and yet yesterday we saw a strike force of Keena and MacLean  Monty Ha

Got told tonight that the pitch has the same disease that the Celtic pitch had a few years back.

Aye so and it does. It’s fucked from having a massive fucking concert on it about 8 days before the season started. Budge has the conspiracy stories out. Warnock

The stand was forecast at 11m with 1m contingency.

Accounts show 24m costs for a project that's still not complete.

7m overspend?
