Quite enjoyed this wee article about George Orwell's time living on Jura.

Not sure he'd have been able to look out his window to the North Sea, though  Monty Oh You

Sorry to pozzie you there, Mikey. ruined the NUmber of the Beast! Enjoyed that too; saw that movie in London when it came out, just down from Piccadilly Circus, and of course read it at school. Should really do so again. Was so tempted to walk up to the house, and the northern coast with it's whirlpools and mental currents but think it's about 6/7 hrs when we were there in Oct but there just wasn't the time as we were day tripping. Did get as far however as the mentioned Ardlussa Estate, pretty much the end of the paved road. I can understand how 70 yrs ago he might need a scythe and a doctorate in small-engine mechanics to get a pint of milk - it's wasn't exactly the easiest of roads in 2020 in a new car.

Plenty of venison mind. Piggy
