If it was really between Crawford and Naismith then that's a concern, as it implies Levein wants to persevere with playing Naismith in a midfield role where he's not all that effective. Monty Oh Well

Think he's already on record saying Naismith will be an attacking midfielder type player Monty Oh Well

Naismith is best in that role I think. He was playing basically holding mid at one point which is where he is not effective.

Attacking midfield is where’s he’s best, as shown nearer the end of last season. In behind the striker as a number 10.

So typical of us that we sign a player several levels above what we'd usually expect purely so Levein can demonstrate that he's spent his entire career playing in the wrong position. Heh

At this level naismith can run the show from attacking mid. Was having to drop worryingly deep last season to pick up the ball at times. Basically back in defence Monty Umm

You’d hope lee and Bozanic can take the ball from the back and set up attacks this season like Gomis used to.

Surely one of them can do it Monto

Levein's "attacking mid" is placed about three metres from the penalty box Warnock

You’d have thought that we’d have given Crawford a two or shree year deal. Not 100% convinced that getting Naismith back for another season is a better long-term option, but it’s not like we’re short of central midfielders now. Levein
