Scored a very good goal after 2 minutes, then was absolutely dreadful. Totally anonymous. On that performance, I can see why he's not around the Hearts first team.

Aye doubt zanatta will make it now, that ship has sailed.

Weird he didn’t get more of a chance because when he was playing he seemed to be involved a lot in the game. Wasn’t amazing but thought he deserved more game time, then papped out on loan never to be seen again.

He’s had as many loan spells as Angus Beith - time to write this one off.

Blair Henderson just about to header City's first in first half added time. Might have been his third headed touch of the half. Monty Ha

City players celebrate with keeper after Alloa player puts their fifth spot kick wide.

Thought City's #7 had a good game, and dominated midfield with his mates. Good well fought come-back after the early stings (geddit?!). Monty Oh You

The number 7, Allan Smith, got the Supporters Club MoM.

After the shaky start, City were by far the better team. More than matched Alloa and dominated them for large chunks of the match.

Did you go behind the goal by choice or because there was nowhere else to go (the stand being full)? Game ko'd slightly late due to the queue and there was still a queue ten minutes into the game. Announced attendance - 478. Warnock

A great terrier-like performance from him.

Yes, they showed a lot of composure in the face of a potential doing, after the early start from Alloa. Although they still obviously have a bit f a thing for pumping balls in for BH I thought they actually tried to play the ball more on the floor than they did vs Albion Rovers last week. Maybe they feel more comfortable on that surface than grass. Monty Chuckle

I did go behind (prefer standing tbh) the goals, and stood there the whole time. My son asked me what I thought the attendance and I said about 800, maybe a 1000. Monty But Thought i read you saying that the stand holds 500, well that was full. Monty Oh You Also, my kids pretty much played in the cage the entire game only to appear every so often asking for juice, sweets, etc to which they got the GTF answer on each occasion. Slow learners! They did see the penalties mind so really they saw all that was crucial, I guess.

The City captain's face on scoring the fourth penalty, to the Alloa fans behind the goal was a right picture. One of my highlights. He (most of them tbf) was giving it big GIRUYs at the end too. One boy (not a teenager) was giving him 'paedo' and beast shite all second half. Lady next to me was the mum of the Alloa striker, Greig Spence (who you'll remember was subbed about the hour mark) ... her buddy who was constantly gabbing about the game was nipping my ear a bit like I'd imagine Flo Capp (Andy's wife) stated that the cunt was an embarrassment to their fans as he was always fffen and c-ing. She kept on about the rugby but ...
Anyway, they felt they (including their boy Spence) were hampered by their non-existent mid, which of course was down to City's effort sin that area of the pitch. I did't think Zanatta looked that bad tbh, well when he was on the ball anyway, not that that was often.

Good outing, fucking baltic though!!

He's been excellent most of the season, though his game time had been limited because of the Henderson-Shepherd partnership and the outstanding form of Handling (before his injury). Smith never complained though, and he's played well whenever called upon.

Was very impressed with Andy Black again (number 4). Very good at breaking up the play, though got worried after he was booked early doors. He's currently the runaway leader for Supporters Club Player of the Season (point totals after the game vote and MoM selection). Stirling Albion freed him last season, a decision that Darren Barr (who's been playing for Stirling) described as 'an absolute shocker'.

They dont usually launch the ball up to Henderson tbh. He's certainly better with the ball at his feet. Last week's conditions would've played a part and I think when they did yesterday, it was initially out of panic. Once they settled down, they played it more on the deck and thats when they really got a hold of the game.

I was in the stand (where all the 'noise' was coming from Smug ) and when looking about, there wasnt a seat to be had. Around the standing areas was the most packed I seen it, since we began sharing down there, with many places two and three deep. No one could believe it was announced as 478.  Zlat

Thats most abuse I've heard Thomson get since he signed for City. Most teams dont even bother tbh (it usually gets reserved for when Clyde and Goodwillie are in town). One Alloa fan was giving him torrents of abuse for the entire match. As they missed the last penalty, he did an about turn and bolted out the ground.  Laugh

I thought #6 was pretty busy (did he score the 2nd?) and also #19 caught my eye as being quite instrumental in the middle. It was difficult to see well from ground level, side of the goal tbh.

Aye, two games isn't probably the best sample size on which to judge.  As I mentioned up there ^^ I think he only got his head to just two balls before he nodded in that first on the HT whistle (tbf he was up against a pretty big unit). I also noticed that on one occasion where some boy had a definite chance to shoot just outside the D he passed to BH instead, who was quickly closed down and his shot blocked.  Basically he deferred to him so he must have some skillz about him (there were a few other moments where he tried some fancy stuff in tight situations - they didn't come off but he obviously believes in himself.)  Also seemed to be giving it the two karate chops either side of his loins fuck youse to the rowdy band of Alloa fans right at the end following shoot-out.  Laugh

The wee group of Alloa fans at the far end of the stand following a heavy challenge on one of theirs sung the wanker song but instead of his name used #4 (I thin it was); that brought a wry smile. Aye, I was somewhat worried about losing my premium standing position!  Maybe there were 500-odd 'free' U12s n there.   Monty Oh You

Monty Ha Ahh, I didn't realise that was him, tho I did wonder, as it's a pretty harsh slagging to give someone as random abuse, and to that extent.

No room in my pockets, Alan, for family packs of fruit pastilles and jelly babies (and a camera) and my hands (freezing!).  Decided to keep them for when I got home instead.  Asda's American IPA.   Fist

6 is Marc Laird. Thought he played fairly well, though in the context of his performances this season, he wasnt as influential as usual.

19 is Scott Shepherd. He scored the second. Played mostly out on the right and drifted into the middle. He's usually right through the middle with (B) Henderson but because we were needing a quicker outlet ball, he was positioned a bit wider than usual.

Yesterday was Goal 18 for Blair. IIRC, in all divisions, he's the third highest scorer in Scotland (all comps) after Dobbie and Shankland. They have a tendency to pass to him because of that.

It wasnt just him. They were generally abusing everyone, including anyone who appeared connected to City who walked past them. Strange bunch all round.

Half price for ST holders. Keeping momentum going a must in the title race and with the Irn-Bru Cup semi not too far away.
