I'd rather him than cunts who had no affiliation to Hearts before we rocked up with a contract in their early-to-mid 30s.

Ah it’s just the whole ethos at the club, he was raging at the club for having the audacity to suggest he was passed it 12 months ago and now he’s still there as a coach after proving he’s passed it.

Don’t doubt he’s got a lot to give as a coach but he’s been a major part of the decline on the field, is that something you really want hanging about? I just feel like a lot of these boys need binned completely so the club can start over.

Coaching while studying for his license - likely not taking a wage if he gets a contract with one of the central belt teams.

Don't see the issue to be honest.

Came through the youth system at the club, improved, and had a good career. Shouldn't let the poor end to his playing days hide the fact he's probably got a fair bit to offer as a coach. Strange timing though.

A player as experienced as him will have loads to offer to players at that age. As long as he’s no coaching the first team I don’t see the issue, he’s been pish for us past wee while but he was a great player on his day and can hopefully bring some players on a bit with things he can teach them.

It irritates me when ex players with barely any coaching experience rock up in the first team because you actually need decent coaches but think it’s good he’s working with they ages while he learns.

It's just MacDonald and King now isn't it?

Weird signing for them if they've promotion aspirations, I think he's League One level at best these days.

Tremendous in his first season back. Ripped his hamstring off the bone which is frankly a sickening thought. Whilst he has been nothing like the same player post injury, he's never hid. Contrast with sicknote Naismith.

Correct.

I don't get the abuse he takes. He literally tore his hamstring off the bone, no player is going to be the same after that. As you say he never hid and was probably playing a lot of games 50% fit going by the way he was hobbling about at points. Easy to forget now but before he was hands down the best CB in the league. A tremendous player for us.

Let's be honest it's all well and good reminiscing and saying how good players were before but you're always going to remember what they are like most recently and he's been absolute gash Jezza either he should have chucked the towel in or had his hand forced a long, long time ago.

Very difficult to "hide" when opposition teams constantly target you as a weak link. Monty Oh Well

Great servant to the club, top player on his return, but the time has come. His teeth also freak me out, so there's that too.
