He played well for about an hour on Saturday. Did exactly what you want from a defensive mid - won the ball, kept it moving, passed it to Hearts players. Kept it simple. Dipped a lot later, especially when he was trying to force it when we were chasing a goal, but who didn’t?

Irving played well too, and he needs that experience beside him to keep developing.

As with everything surrounding this shitshow, the players are not the problem.

Waste of money though. Not better than Irving and Haring and we have Damour to do the unglamorous stuff.

Waste of money. Waste of money, waste of money.

Don Cowie of Ireland but with less stamina.

Damour looks to be the new Malaury Martin at this stage though, so I’ll take Whelan Laugh

I'd probably take Martin over any further nothing players, tbh.

Haring, Irving and Meshino as a midfield three. Piggy One day we will see this when we can scrape enough players together who aren't injured.

Is Damour shite? I thought he was rank in his first game against county but other folk seemed to think he was decent. The reality is most players who pull on 'the famous maroon' these days are garbage. Like when Hibs used to sign guys who were decent before then wank at them then decent again after.

I didn’t think he looked that bad but he gave away 2 goals in consecutive games by losing possession.

Hekens

Obviously have a lot of time for Haring, but he’s a career centre half for a reason. Does the defensive side of things superbly and is a goal threat at set pieces, but not half as good on the ball compared with those two.

Not sure how you define “better” but I would have Irving and haring in my starting 11 in front of this Wheelan chap any day of the week. Pedestrian old men can fuck off (but enough about begbie)

I’d define it as being of a noticeably higher overall quality, as seen in the phrases “Begbie is a better poster than Scott”, “Mr Sergio is a better manager than Levein” or “Glenn Whelan is a better player than Peter Haring” Tony Can't Hear You

Put it this way, Haring wouldn't have played a minute for Aston Villa last season.

Just occurred to me that Haring could play centre half instead of Berra. Wow Tony Hmm

Did Haring actually play CB at his other clubs? Big man has 20 goals in 187 career apps, that's probably more than our strikers and midfield combined.

He played centre back almost exclusively for the last 3 years before coming here, and played a lot in midfield before that. Don’t think he’d played in midfield for about 2 years before he came here.

I take it back.

He can play.

The only one that is going to dig Levein out of his hole.

Thought he looked much better as the only deep lying midfielder. We’ve previously played Irving and Damour deep alongside him and it’s not worked.

Yesterday when he had the ball had more options in front of him and got us going forward far more.
