Actually dislike the guy, but I think he would do well at a bigger club, with a bigger budget. I think he is hard on his players too and ensures 100% effort.

Would give Tynecastle a lift and wouldn't be slow in emptying folk like Clare out of the starting 11 and getting McDonald, Cochrane back in the team.

I await the inevitable abuse. Monty Ooh

Pardew wouldn't entertain us Laugh I want a young manager with a vision of playing sexy fitbaw like the boy at Norwich/Klopp. Someone with personality that will engage with fans and do mad celebrations in front of the fans when we win etc. Why do hearts always have to be so miserable Sob

I don't think Jefferies wants to come out of retirement mate, but someone with this mans character would be a good laugh... Colin

If the focus is on the academy then we need a guy who can develop players. I don't think Robinson is the man but in Turnbull and Hastie he has brought through more than Levein Monty Oh Well

Whoever it is he should have zero connection to the club or Levein. All we do is limit ourselves to ex employees who've had Hearts loser mentality drummed into them and that we play shite football and always have so it must be what we are happy with.

I read somewhere that every English Premier League winning manager had zero connection to the club prior to winning the league. It's a needless restriction and the last time we branched out we had our best manager (IMO) in year's.

It's all academic anyway, if Levein does leave the dugout he's only moving upstairs and probably with a contract extension too.

That's interesting.

The obsession we have with ex employees is fucking bizarre. I get it is probably easier to do business with them but a fresh perspective is required. There's a reason we all love Mr Sergio even though the football was boring in all honesty.

I take the point.

Although O'Neill is on as much as 800k and coming to Hearts would be a big drop, it just depends what he’s after. He was certainly open to Hearts previously.

He's turned down EPL and Championship jobs since signing his new deal. Hearts fucked about the last time with him. It'll be very unlikely O'Neill would want the job now.

Aye, I think our chance with him is gone. Definitely could have had him as he lives in Edinburgh and supposedly was interested but the answer was along the corridor all along. Monty Oh Well

Give it another 10 games. Drop to League Two in England and whoever is top, approach their manager, give him the job, hope for the best.

If he turns us down. Give it to Naisy so he's got something to do for the next near half a decade with us.

A couple of Motherwell fans in my work think he’s done all he can at Motherwell and would happily see him leave.

I’d take him over Levein, mind
