Was just wondering if anybody on here had either organised a wedding or knew of anyone who's had a wedding which was a supply your own drink, was wondering how much it cost(obviously guests depending) or any other helpful advice when organising a wedding.

I'm going to a wedding next year where they're only supplying spirits and wine and I'm not sure how much of either they're supplying either, so I'm going to need to take my own beer if that's what I'm wanting, full day affair as well :Laugh never heard the likes of it until then.

It's still an improvement on the initial plans which would have involved a trip and stayover in Fife :Monty LewLew

Never heard of that before. Would be a bit weird turning up for a wedding at the church with a 12 pack of Peroni in hand. Wiggo

I almost dived in two footed myself when I read your post tbf. You providing the booze is basically the ideal wedding - no one actually gives a shit about anything else aside from that, maybe the meal and the music, so if they’re spot on then you’re laughing.

My main anxiety about my wedding was whether everyone would have more than enough alcohol to get pished on. Monty Chuckle

From memory, we had 5-6 big boxes of Budweiser for cheapish general-purpose scrub-class beers, then a few boxes of Moretti, dark fruits :johnnyyay: , various ciders, various cans of melon/grapefruit IPA type, and a box or two of zero-alcohol stuff. Plenty to ensure that day guests (~60) always had a bottle or can in hand if they wanted.

Beyond that, we bought ~50 bottles of Prosecco (to cover day and night guests, and had quite a lot left over. I’d just asked a couple of groomsmen to keep an eye on available glasses, and to act as barmen if needed, but beyond that people just invited themselves behind the bar and poured their own, which was great.

We also had ~25 bottles of wine for the tables.

It’s obviously a fair expense (and lugging crates around is a pain) but I think it’s worth budgeting for if your wedding is more on the DIY side.
