Isn't being recognised as a world record though.

I reckon if Partridge sorted his dodgy knees he could beat that.

Yeah it was controlled conditions and not an open race.

What do controlled conditions mean? Was it not the Vienna marathon outdoors?

Thought this was some sort of talkhertz recruitment promotion or something.

A bandy legged guy from Ethiopia ran a marathon in a quick time. How very original.

Would be interesting to see that broken down into the average pace per 100m. Very likely he set a pace most of the likes of us couldn't manage over a distance that short, then kept it up for 26 miles Crowe

My very rudimentary calculations say something like 16.9 seconds/100m. Sounds okay but not great until you realise it's an average pace maintained for 26 miles Crowe

When I did the London marathon last year there was a massive treadmill that was set at Sir Mo’s fastest marathon pace.

People were falling over and off the thing it was so fast. Laugh

I didn’t even attempt it

This guy is faster than that - it’s nuts

A marathon is 42km so works out at slightly faster than 21km an hour Wow

When I was at the peak of my cardio fitness I was running at 17km/h for 20-30 minutes, I couldn't even image running that much faster and that much longer. Just shows the gap between someone in decent shape and elite distance runner.
