The scabs and full kit stuff was just intended to get a wee nibble, preferably off of you jjay but my genuine view is that we shouldn’t be taking away supports to the likes of Dundee. It’ll probably be moot anyway because by the time fans are allowed en masse the dust will have settled a bit, but it definitely doesn’t sit right with me that they get a financial shot in the arm from us being there under these circumstances.

We took something like 5 and a half thousand to Raith last time, which I would say is highly unlikely this season even if things went back to normal.

Until his comments yesterday I wasn't too fussed but that was taking the piss. Stand by your actions you absolute snake, don't try and butter us up with a mythical 60 year relationship Monty Ha Won't be there this season. Shame because it's a great away day.

All true Laugh but that knowing, “we know it’s shite but look, here’s a seagull on the pitch lol” attitude that we’ve adopted as a nation pisses me off a bit as well tbh. Just seems a bit like it allows the game to be dragged further and further into the mud, and there’s a happy medium between total joke and soulless 21st century football.

It was so obvious that he had realised his payday from the big away support might not be coming. Absolute weasel. That Raith day was definitely one of my favourites from the last time, but he can bolt if he thinks he’s getting any cash off me.

Still a massive head in the sand mentality from everyone in Scottish football that this is all going to be a normal season, by the way. Zero guarantees of that.

I get that Scottish people are proud that their football has retained a bit of character and personality when football is being transformed into this corporate soulless shite, but it’s totally at the expense of the actual football progressing.

All the things that we all find funny and say “that’s what makes Scottish fitba” is essentially a blooper reel of footballers being shite but you’ll then get folk greeting that we’re falling behind at national level.

It says everything about how everyone else views the league when it can’t even get a sponsor Laugh Bit of a reality check for the OF as well when they go on about themselves as if they’re European giants.

Could have a wee day out at thistle when we are at kirkaldy if the fixtures allow it, but it’s more likely that all 13/14 of our away games are on the tv on a Friday night.

I might go to a Thistle game or two this season, as their financial situation is probably pretty precarious after what’s happened to them, and they supported us when we were in admin as well. Plus it’s 20 minutes up the road for me Laugh

Could get a half and half scarf and bang on about the “M8 alliance” until someone sparks me out GodIsGod

This is exactly where I’m at, I’ll be nowhere near half of these grounds ever again. They voted to fuck us over, so the very least we can do is hit them in the pocket.

His grovelling statement was purely issued to try and get us to part with our cash at his shitehole stadoum. Fuck him, fuck Dundee and fuck Ayr along with any other of these self centred fucks.

Monty Chuckle

They'd only played one game before it went kaput because they start the league in March. Think they're transitioning to a shorter winter season to help Glasgow City in the Champions League.

True. I suppose it’s an either or situation - we can’t have both. We either have guid, honest Scotch fitba with every club for themselves and end up terrible on the European and international stage or we can have clubs that work together to better the game and product, and end up with a respectable international team and allow 3 or 4 clubs to go further into Europe more often.

Other clubs and fans in Scotland have made it perfectly clear which option they have chosen so I won’t be sympathetic if they complain about why our league is diddy and the international team keeps getting by Kazakhstan and that Jezza

Don't often agree with Darryl Broadfoot (actually never, I hate this cunt) but he says leagues across europe have to decide whether they are Hollywood blockbusters or indie films. We should be taking that indie model of "real football for real folks". Rather than trying to be a bargain basement EPL which is what we tried in the 2000s with the SKY deals.

Thing is we can't even do that right. Difference between being an indie niche and acting the cunt due to widespread corruption.

The unionist bbc are always going to be like "lol a haggis attacked a linseman at Cappielow". BT Sport did brilliant in marketing us as an indie-quirky niche product with presenters who genuinely have a passion for our weird, pishy league.

According to one journalist on Twitter, what TV does is irrelevant to the SPFL's ability to market itself Monty But

The sycophantic journos are one of the worst aspects of scottish football. The pundits/Journos that aren't stick out like a sore thumb (and usually get attacked - see Michael Stewart and Tom English)

Always got the feeling BT Sport were laughing with us and having a good time, while the BBC and Sky were always laughing at us or sniggering behind our back.

(and sometimes with SKY just bored as fuck - they never focused on the drama, just Andy Walker, kris commons, boyd droning on about the next Old Firm game. Ignoring all the fun stuff)

I cant get my head around folk saying that what the TV does to present the game wont have any effect on how the league is perceived. Absolute nonsense. There was a bit of buzz around the league with BT's presentation of it all. Supporters votes saying to keep it as its the best the 'product' has been on TV for years. Then Sky get the exclusive deal and many have a downer about it again.

EDIT - just saw SJ's post. Spot on. To Sky, we're a bit of a nuisance that can be talked down about. BT made it look like they cared.

BT got the balance right, because they presented the game as worth taking seriously underneath the silliness. Really enjoyed their coverage. Luckily I won’t be watching any of the shitey Sky coverage this year Greggy :woods:

BT did a fantastic job. Sky couldn't care less about 34 of the 38 weeks of the season.

Most focus on Scottish football is about how 'hilarious' the social media teams at clubs can be.

Their social media teams have huge reach too and will frame the narrative of our product through these streams.

THe rUK think Scottish football is just the OF thanks to how SKY has framed it for the last 20-30 years.
