Award Celtic the league now.

Promote Dundee United and play the play off games behind closed doors between Ayr Utd, Dundee and Inverness caledonian Thistle.

Next season trial 14 team league season for two years.

Play each other twice - 26 games. Split into 7 and play each other twice - 12 = 38 games a season.

This isn't pie in the sky - we should be pushing this. Aberdeen got out of relegation due to league expansion. I think this works for all parties, including TV companies as there will be a guaranteed - OF derby/Edinburgh derby/Lanarkshire derby and one of highland derby/tayside derby/ayrshire derby as things stand.

Also the wee teams like Hamilton are guarenteed safety and get the big gates from Dundee United and Hearts fans next season.

How can we get traction with this? Seriously, everyone wins.

Budge. Get on this.

I like the idea, but if they did that I feel they'd still relegate us for being bottom, if they're giving Celtic the title, etc.

The scenes if we got saved somehow though :Fist

That was confirmed in advance though was it not? Just think if they're finishing the season early and handing out titles then they'd be sending us down at the same time.

Fair enough, still don't think we're likely to avoid the drop in this scenario.

Motherwell were saved before because Falkirk or somebody didn’t have a good enough stadium.

Sorry, I refuse to admit that Motherwell avoided the drop that season

Aberdeen were saved because Falkirk's stadium didnt meet criteria:

Won't happen, because Mulraney and the rest of the SPFL would kick up hell given the lost revenue that would mean.

Thats when it moved to 12. Aberdeen should've been in a 3 way playoff with Falkirk and Dunfermline. Falkirk didnt meet stadium criteria, so Aberdeen stayed up and Dunfermline promoted.

When the breakaway was announced, to start 98-99, Hibs were relegated in 98.

Motherwell were saved relegation in 2003 because of Falkirk's stadium as well. So our only hope in this scenario would appear to be to protest that Tannadice isn't up to standard :Laugh

Or that there is a global pandemic that means we cannot complete our fixtures.

Did Aberdeen not also get saved from relegation when some teams stadium wasn’t big enough for them to be promoted?
