As much as we all hate the current situation and there’s been plenty bad news etc, has anyone got any plus sides?

1. Seeing the bairn more. Aye sometimes she does my tits in, but I’m fairly sure I’m annoying her more, but no nursery, plus a slightly altered work schedule for me, means I’m getting to spend plenty time with her. Could sometimes go two weeks of the month just seeing her before nursery, or just before bed time.
Taught her how to ride her bike too.

2. I’m getting fitter as I’ve been fairly addicted to getting out on the bike. More than likely wouldn’t have happened if I was still going out for dinners and getting pished Laugh

3. Got a win on Warzone jjay

4. Rep score over 1000 GodIsGod

There's actually loads of plus sides to it Laugh I've seen members of family that I haven't in years and I wouldn't if it wasn't for this lockdown and quizzes getting organised etc.

Can get up when I want, done a few worthwhile tasks that wouldn't have got done normally.

Eating better than I ever have in years because there's time to actually make things and ordering from restraunts etc.

Still getting a good sauce at the weekends.

Can always find a way to make things good like no matter what the situation. Absolutely no point moaning and greeting about it Sound

Saving money is the big one for me, no betting, no pointless purchases at the shops on the way home from work. Less bevy being bought.

As boring as it is, sorting out my house and garden has been good as well. Amount of rubbish I’ve been able to chuck out and organise things better.

My Mrs hasn’t killed me yet either so I’m taking that as a positive Quite Good

Added bonus of not having to socialise with most of the cretins from work Pinilla

Managed to finally spend time getting the flat a bit nicer. Probably should’ve saved but put money mostly into the living room as it was desp needing it.

Loving getting to lie in, not using public transport, doing a lot more cooking and baking, save cash, time with the family. Exploring where I live a lot more as well, used to just be in the house and commute to and from work but walked for miles round the area and really appreciate it more. Going to be hard to adjust going back to the office but I reckon I'll be working from home for months after the lockdown starts to relax so will get most of these benefits.

Must be pretty great for those on furlough to get time to themselves and do a bit DIY and stuff. I've not stopped working though so just getting a taste of WFH that I've always quite fancied without having to commit to it, that's a huge bonus.

Broken Britain. Don't worry, you'll be back at the coal face soon getting COVID before long.

Not work-journeying at the moment is the best thing about the lock-down for me.

I won't be going back to that again even after everything dies down.

I actually think if we did more of this as a country - without it being everyday life or enforced - mental health would be so much better. The idea of getting out of bed when you’re actually rested and not when an alarm goes is great, and the work journey not being part of your life saves time, money and stress. It’s gained me an hour a day and saved me around about £175-200 in petrol already. It’s obviously highly unlikely that I’ll ever be able to work from home a day a week or whatever, but the more people who can do it - while still having the ability to interact with others in a workplace at least some of the time - the better. Totally in favour of a 4 day working week.

I’m the same as a lot of you. I’ve been cooking new things and being able to take the time to make more nutritious stuff has been great. I really like being able to break for lunch and go for a run or a walk, or get housework done during the working day as well. Those are the kinds of things that, when work is busy and I finish late, I’ll get home and just sack off a lot of the time. Fucking hate getting home at 8pm knowing I need to eat and do a wash Laugh

Also started this uni course on The Tudors - doing history units is something I’ve always wanted to do but never felt like I’ve had the time. I sat and did about an hour and a half of work there, where if I’d been working all day I might have been too tired or not arsed.

Been doing about 300 sit ups a day since lockdown - two weeks off for covid notwithstanding. Would need to lose three or four pounds for a proper six pack but firmly in washboard category.

Cant even begin to imagine setting an alarm ever again, getting woke up by the bairn singing songs at quarter past nine every day is the dream.
