It is in a sense, he won us the Championship before so let’s just go back to what we know rather than appointing someone else. That’s clearly the thought process here.

If you mean step backwards as in back in time then yes. Neilson can actually set up a football team that can conduct themselves as professionals rather than amateurs so it’s a massive leap forward in that sense.

Who is this coming from?

Neither appointment would be sensible. Neilson because he’s simply not good enough and will quickly divide the support again. It would be a horrendously uninspiring move. JJ because regardless of his legendary status this is a younger mans job and we need someone healthy and with the energy to do it. He should be relaxing on the golf course and acting as a club ambassador with the door always open to him. He would even be an ideal ear for the likes of David Weir. Expecting him to work 60 hour weeks is nonsense at his stage.

Levein continuing to advise in an 'unofficial' capacity.

No idea if true but one of the few people who ever get anything right over the road is saying pics being taken with Neilson at Tynie, official announcement imminent.

What happened to the DoF appointment is critical and will be made first? This is unbelievable.

Wonder how much Jimmy Anderson stumped up for the compensation? Won’t have been cheap.

This is mental on so many levels Warnock

I just cannot for the life of me work out why Neilson would want to leave United to come back to Hearts, where he knows half the support can’t be arsed with him, where he knows that he’ll be under way more scrutiny, where he’ll be back pissing about in the championship after rebuilding his reputation last season. What’s his thought process? Unfinished business? Wants to prove himself without Levein? Money? Just loves the Hertz and can’t say no?

I wouldn’t be doing it if I were him Warnock
