I just cannot for the life of me work out why Neilson would want to leave United to come back to Hearts, where he knows half the support can’t be arsed with him, where he knows that he’ll be under way more scrutiny, where he’ll be back pissing about in the championship after rebuilding his reputation last season. What’s his thought process? Unfinished business? Wants to prove himself without Levein? Money? Just loves the Hertz and can’t say no?

I wouldn’t be doing it if I were him Warnock

Maybe they wouldn't let him have Wyscout at United.

It makes no sense for him. I kind of get the idea that he has a proven track record in the Championship so makes sense for us but I don't know why he is coming to us Warnock

Please no JJ for the SD role. Get Davie Weir in and don't kill a Hearts legend.

I reckon he fancies a pop at it without Levein handicapping him.

Tommy Wright would be the obvious Utd appointment.

Hearts are a much much bigger club than Utd. It’s a no brainer for Neilson regardless of the huge question marks many of us have.

Not delighted but not upset. Like everything under Budge's Hearts it's just "meh". Really hope it was Levein pulling the strings the first time though, as we regularly overestimated our opposition and the derby performances were disgraceful.

That said, looking forward to not being done by the same ball over the top week in, week out.

Same (kinda). He’ll get us out the championship

And he’ll be cheaper than Stendel.

Well, at least it didn't drag out Quite Good

I'm not seething at Neilson but I don't get it, and don't understand the Dundee United position at all.

This may sound far away just now but everything is in place at Hearts to challenge the OF like Mcinnes has done at Aberdeen (before it went stale)
Plus we have a great training ground a 20,000 seater stadium we can fill and benefactors that bankroll us.

I can’t understand why you would think Neilson would stay at United when Hearts come calling? If you back yourself then you 100% make the move from diddy United to the mighty Heart of Midlothian.

Did he have some sort of release clause figure in his Utd contract?

Yep. As Hendricks says he must’ve had some release clause thing as it looks like we didn’t have to deal with United. He’s having his photaes snapped at Tynecastle the day.

As said. Will get us out the Championship.
