I don’t think we can say we’re losing hickey indirectly to Celtic tbf.

We sold him on to Bologna,  he’ll have kicked on or whatever then is going to another team.  We have the ability to choose who to sell to but we can’t dictate who the next team sells to.

It’s a gutter we didn’t seem to be looking as nisbet though.  My mate is Dunfermline and was raving about him, was watching a lot of their highlights at the time and he was banging them in every week just about.  At every level he’s played at he seemed to be a proven goal scorer and exactly the sort of guy who should be on our radar.  Dunno if we were ever in for him and I’m sure I read he’s hibs so maybe we never really had a chance there.

Fwiw I follow hickey on Twitter and it looks like he’s got a fucking great life living and working out there, you’d be mad to swap serie A and that lifestyle to come back here but Celtic is a big draw so you never know.

Sure I read somewhere that Bologna were signing Kolarov for next season. Presumably not a long term solution but if it happens you could understand Hickey’s head being turned a bit if he’s suddenly third choice.

If the brain trust were still in charge when he left, we'll get 2 bob and a box of tracksuits for his sell on fee.
