I doubt (m)any of us ever want to go back to work in offices full time. I changed career path so that I could work from home/wherever I want most of the time, now every cunt is doing it. Colin

High street retail is probably gubbed (whereas places like Fort Kinnaird are always rammed), so what happens to (e.g.) Princes Street? Rename it "Gold Bros Boulevard"?

We could use city centre spaces for the commons instead of for shan shops.

When Princes Street was built was it ever designed to look like this?

The current Council 'plan', for Princes Street, is to move away from shops and have more bars, cafes and restaurants. Whether that happens or not though?

Better tartan tearooms than "Heritage of Scotland" / "Royal Edinburgh" / "Dunedin Cashmere" type holes. Robbie iirc I saw one of their shops on George Street the other day.

Princes St is crying out for proper restaurants. Folk will happily travel into town to eat. Don't know what the score is with licensing though.

When was the last time that anyone here went into a WHSmith btw? Monty But Amazed that their non-airport/station shops are still going.

The one at the Royal Imfirmary, but apart from that, many years ago.

The ones in the train station are mental. About £1.50 for a can of juice.

Hope so. It could be a really nice street if it had that sort of thing, with tables on the street and awnings and nice lighting. Great views to the castle etc would be attract more tourists than the shite shops that occupy it just now.

Can you imagine Princes street like that on a nice summers day if it were trams only and bars and restaurants. Wee meal and over to the gardens with a carry out.

Princes st would be amazing if it was all bars and restaurants, but you know if it happened it would just be rammed end to end with shite chains.

All Bar One, Brewdog, a variant of Malone’s, and a Spoons at each end.

There'd end up being about 4 Wetherspoons.
