Good point I actually forgot about that I'm sure he won't play much this season, don't think he can now be trusted in proper games. Just the way it goes sometimes when you're done and your legs are gone it's all over.

We've got a central defender problem. Namely that none of them are good enough if we have aspirations to be a top 3 Premier Side. I'd say Souttar is good enough but the chances of him being fit and reliable are highly doubtful.
We ain't reaching those levels with Halkett and Popescu. Berra is out of contract and clearly a spent force. It's an area we'll need to reinforce significantly and probably need a fair bit of investment to do it.

We're in the first division bud. Therefore we don't have a centre back problem. Lets wait until we can attract CB's by being able to say we are in Scotland's top league before we try getting some.

Chill for now.
I get that mate. But we need to have an eye on where we go next. What we have now will do us but we will do nothing in league above with these types. Same is true for the likes of Walker.
We need to be planning. We also need to remember that people who oversaw arguably the biggest 18 months of under achievement in Scottish football are still at the club. We can't be complacent and readily accept Budge and co aren't still asleep at the wheel.
Someone like Jason Kerr at St Johnstone is a type who could move to a club like Hearts at step forward again.

Yeah Hibs fan. Good player though, would no doubt cost quite a bit. I doubt St Johnstone will go down though, with shite like Hamilton and St Mirren in the top league. I'd take that McCann boy as well.
Ben Heneghan. 6ft3 ex Motherwell centre half. Did brilliant with Motherwell in the SPFL. Went to Sheff Utd then Blackpool on loan. Did well by all accounts at Blackpool but don't think they could afford to keep him. Still only 27.
And without a club.
Surely worth asking him to train with us and having a look up close.
I'm also disappointed in our lack of loan activity. Must be a decent young centre half in England looking for some first team action.
We'll win this league regardless. But there's still two Cup competitions this season after the SC final.
When we get promoted we could make St Johnstone an offer for likes of Kerr. Realistically there will be motivated sellers in the months ahead.
We need to be picking off the best players of the lower Premier clubs. Aberdeen have cornered that market whilst we've been fucking around in the "hidden gems" markets looking at pish from Cambridge United. We had every opportunity to take likes of Lewis Ferguson out of Hamilton. Probably paying Damour more than Aberdeen are paying Ferguson.
Desperate recruitment has set us back. We need to take advantage of difficult conditions to pick up good players domestically that might otherwise have been beyond our reach.

Damour was basically a million pound commitment by Levein. Only he and Budge's brother have done better over the last few years given their contributions.

How Damour was able to happen after we finally got rid of Martin and Oshinawa and Sammon were fresh in the memory really beggars belief.
Some of the deals were so ludicrous you almost have to believe something more was going on.
