Few thoughts now that the Dr has sanctioned us spending our own money.

January.
We're half way through a depleted shit league. Some signings are just about getting out this league. Not beyond.

Nathan Dyer. Right wing. 33. No club. Left Swansea in August. Could get for remainder of season. Shop window for him, chance of extension. Good experience.

Yannick Toure. CF. Newcastle U23. 20 year old called new Drogba down there. Swiss. Scoring for fun in Prem2. Needing a loan move to develop further. Big and mobile. Good option away from Boyce.

Kai Kennedy. 18 years old. Left winger from Rangers on loan at Inverness, think loan just til Jan 21. We should be in for this lad for short term loan. Meant to be different class and Bayern and Man City were tracking him. Robbo raving about him.

Beyond.
Jackson Irvine. 27. Without a club. Left Hull July. Box to box and the player Lee should be in central midfield. But isn't. Brilliant in Scottish football last time.

Toby Sibbick. Loan ends July 2021. Back to Barnsley. Would love to see him join us permanently. Supposedly RB is his normal position. Mikey Smith is 33 next bday.

Allan Campbell. CM out of contract at Well. Hibs and Aberdeen will lead the charge.

George Johnston. 20 year old Scottish CH moved Liverpool to Feyenoord. Out of contract in July. Don't think he's holding down starting spot over there. We need to assume worst with Souttar.

Eamonn Brophy. Killie CF out of contract in the summer.

Louis Appere. Dundee Utd right winger. 21. Highly rated. But would need to pay a fee. Contract to 2022.

Probably out of our reach after starting a couple of EPL games, but Jimmy Dunne out of contract in the summer at Burnley, when we'll be back in SPFL. Would offer him a 4 year deal in a heartbeat.

Think in all of this in short term we need to jettison Frear and Roberts early. And despite Hibs goal, Wighton still looks out his depth. None of these guys are lighting up a shit league. And don't look interested in trying to.

Hope this new lad Savage knows what he's doing. Or I'll need to post to sort it all out again in January.

Ha. Cheers Felix. I know I get a bit stick but I'm not bothered.

Here's how I look at it. We're naturally 3rd biggest in Scotland and actually should be pulling away more with corporate. Should be.

But on top of our natural size we've got Mr Anderson and FOH. That Aberdeen and Hibs don't have. Much as I don't like the stand, it's nearly done. So the FOH money especially should be disposable cash to make a difference on the park.

Given 2m a year is £40k a week. Why can't this help fund a few marquee players. Maybe we DO have 3 or 4 in the team on up to £7k a week (if achieving win bonuses) .

And IF these were young players from England, where Scotland can get out of contract players without a development fee, it could be seen as an investment where we sell players on for decent money. Players who get first team exposure. TV coverage. Europe. Cup finals.

But what disappoints me is the lack of ambition from our own fans. Look above. Dyer? (33 and without a club). Feyenoord? (A 20 year old Scot out of contract). And we shit the bed or laugh. Like all we're good for is Cole Stockton, Ross Callachan and Kenny Anderson.

If we get this boy Savage, I'd want him pushing and challenging the Board to be ambitious. Don't care which players. I'm just throwing names about. But can't see him coming here to scout Raith rovers and Ross County.

I just think we as fans deserve a lot more on the park and we've become almost resigned to the pish we've been getting served under Budge.

Some good shouts there Cammo. Sound

Totally agree about Campbell @ Motherwell, he’s exactly the sort of player we should be looking at bringing in, it’s the type that Aberdeen & Hibs get and we kick ourselves for not getting.

Kai Kennedy’s auntie is my missus pal, very highly rated at Ibrox and beyond, they’re very keen to get his new contract signed, but would be good for a loan deal for sure.

Would also take Jackson Irvine back up here, was impressive last time around.

Manny Duku from Raith Rovers is one I'd like to see us have a look at for the rest of the season. Looks handy.

I thought about Jackson Irvine the other day when noticed he was free on FM21.

Would be a great signing but was probably on good money at Hull so might be out of our price range.

Irvine would solve our midfield problems instantly but if he's turning down Sheff Wed I suspect he's looking for something better than the Scotch Champ.

Ha. I make it my business to know these things. I follow English football. Bit geeky. Geordie fans have been pushing him for a run in the first team. He scores every game in Prem2 U23 team. Big unit. Meant to be a good character. Newcastle see good future for him. The selling point of a club like Hearts is a good environment, good stadium, training facilities, play youth players.

I'll give you another two. Villa are actively talking about WANTING both out on loan. Mungo Bridge. Left sided centre half. Aggressive 20 year old needing first team action. Been scouted by European teams. Captains their u23s. Think Tyrone Mings type. And Jacob Ramsay. 19 year old AMF. Was on fire at Doncaster on loan. Villa tied down on long term contract. Both need mens football and first team action according to Villla.

Hearts have so much to offer in terms of development in a first team. I actually mistakenly thought when Gary Naysmith was appointed it was to improve players IN given his years in the EPL. And to tout Hearts to U23 teams in England. And scout those leagues. Not to approve players out to Montrose.

I really feel we should have a couple of top loans every year. Dunne and even Siddick were good examples. But would need to be balanced with our own youngsters coming through. I just don't think they're good enough yet.l to rely upon. Which is another topic.

And before the usual pessimistic, we'll get outbid for youngsters on loan. EPL clubs aren't fussed too much. It's about player development. Huddersfield or whoever offering a few grand more, Villa or Newcastle wouldn't care. It's where is right for the player's development and wellbeing.

What’s Sonny Bradley up to?

My targets would be Dunne, Sibbick, Mamadou Thiam and Donis Avdijaj.
