I agree, but I think the only club he wanted to sign for up here was Dundee. Boyhood dream and all that nostalgic pish, but I’d have loved to see him in the middle of the park just pinging passes.

For those of us old enough (VS & Felix) he’d be like a modern day Jim Bett for us.

Bett could play. That 4-2 cup game at Tynecastle against Rangers when stadium was getting rebuilt. He was absolutely outstanding that night. Directly up against Stuart McCall that night and he schooled him.

A proper footballer. Used to take inswinging corners with either foot. Only other player I've seen do that at Hearts was Eamonn Bannon.

He was absolute class! I don’t think I ever saw him leave the centre circle unless he was taking a corner, such a good passer of the ball.
