You can't really go by fans forums especially when it's yanks. I remember the sheff wed fans were gutted clare went to us but to be fair they'd probably hardly seen him play either.
Yeah that's true can't always trust fans forums. But if he was playing regularly at that level in US and struggling it's not a good sign.
Like you say it's different with Clare, as he was a youngster at Sheff Wed who hadn't played much. Kinda like when some Hearts fans were gutted when Adam King left to go down to Swansea. Fuck knows what he is doing now.

The thing with Mackay steven there wouldn't be many people in football who wouldn't see that as a good signing for us, we know he has ability and he's been very good at jock prem level. it's just that Hearts curse (under budge) where previously good players disintegrate in to a shadow of their former self as soon as they step on to the pitch in maroon.
Just a bump to give him a little bit of praise. Finished the season well and started season well. Looks like he just needed a bit of time to get his fitness back up to Scottish football standards.
(which is weird because I was told MLS was the fittest league ever - they even have sports science and things!)

I think that we signed him during the MLS close season and he also had to quarantine for a bit?
He definitely came onto a gave at the end of last season though and looks to have started this one well, so credit where it's due.
He's still a very good player at this level, he's never been absolutely consistent so he will have poor games but he'll also produce the required magic at times. I like him and Ginnelly with Boyce up top, if they can all stay fit we're laughing.

Also even if he turns out not to contribute much, GMS with no end product will be infinitely more fun to watch than our usual Moore/Henderson/Roberts brand of winger who also offer no end product

Yeah I mean him playing shite in the MLS as well was just because the fitness standards are so low over there
Mackay-Steven is a confidence player. A few good games in an environment he's comfortable in and he'll start to perform well. If you seriously think it's because Hearts have better facilities, fitness coaches and sports scientists than NYC FC then I don't know what to say. We've got Jamie Walker eating a Nandos five times a week ffs.
