Finished Hamlet. Glad I read it, although obviously reading a play's never going to be the same as seeing it performed. Now reading Montesquieu's Les Lettres Persanes, because I'm Makween and I'm pretentious and that's the kind of thing I do.

I really enjoyed it. try and get an annotated copy as there's lots of references to specific events and people.

It's a Kindle copy that I've got Will look into getting an annotated copy at some stage, though.
I've referenced this in essays on several occasions despite never having read it, so thought I should really amend that Enjoying it so far.

I'm trying to become a bit better read at the moment. Feel like an uncultured cretin in comparison with some of the foreign students on my course at times. When I finish my Masters I intend to go on to PhD level in French literature, and I just feel like I need to spend more time on proper literature and less on the kind of stuff I read in the past (a lot of satire and historical fiction). Obviously there's a place for everything, but at the moment I'm making a special effort to go for more challenging stuff. I am actually enjoying it, to be fair.
