Decent enough, but much prefer Zlatan's. Pirlo's is just like a series of disconnected rambling conversations, Zlatan's is more structured and probably reveals a bit more of the juicy stuff you want to hear. Pirlo's still has its moments though.

Finished Les Lettres Persanes a few days ago. Enjoyed it. Now reading The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy. Really good so far.

Thought this was brilliant. Beautifully written and managed to be funny and heartbreaking at the same time.

Now reading Morvern Callar by Alan Warner.

Finished this now. Unsure how I felt about it; got to the end and kind of had the feeling I'd missed something. A quick look at reviews would suggest that I'm not alo e there. I got that it was about her not quite apparent amorality and inner emptiness ( or attempts to be empty inside), but it seemed to aim all out to shock at times. It was okay, I think.

Now reading Dubliners by James Joyce. He wrotw this aged 25 ffs. Muggy

Reading The Girl On The Train just now, because I bloody love a popular-fiction mystery-thriller. Cool

Joyce's second best book, m9. Second only to the stream-of-consciousness one, the excellently titled Dexter.

Wait no that's wrong.

Finished Dubliners now. Pretty good collection of short stories depicting life in contemporary Dublin. Now reading Le Père Goriot by Balzac. Never one word where ten will do. Muggy

Finished the below over the weekend. Story of a German soldier fighting on the Easter Front during WW2. Excellent read - he really captures the total confusion and panic in combat. The retreat back to Germany sounded fucking brutal.

Anyone sat and properly read mein kampf?

I've always wanted to read it to try and get a look at what went on in the guys head, but most folk i know said they ended up not reading it properly since it's pretty boring. Not that they expected to see ''100 ways i'd love to kill jews'' but just it wasnt very insightful at all and they didn't finish the book.

Finished this, actually quite enjoying it at the end. Also (re-)read L'Etranger by Albert Camus since my last post on here. First time I read it was for Higher French, when I found it weird as fuck. This is the second time I've read it since, love it now. Will soon be starting Elise ou la Vraie Vie by Claire Etcherelli.

Just finished the Dice Man. Had read half of it ages ago and never got round to finish it. Great book until the last few pages, was fairly seething at the ending.
