I said it yesterday but it’s annoying watching Boyce and Naismith play together because Naismith just plays wherever he wants so Boyce drops deeper into a number 10 role.

He’ll still pop up with goals and good moments but I just think for the money we’ll be paying it’s a waste having Naismith in the team now.  It’s like Berra, we expected too long out these players and now we’ve got expensive veterans who aren’t as good as the price they will be costing us.

Walker should never have been re-signed, I would have loved him to prove me wrong but he peaked before he left us the first time and he has managed to get worse and look even more disinterested. Cut him loose and give youngsters a chance.

Frustrating to me to see us loaning so many players out when we could just be using them to supplement a squad instead of relying on folk like Walker and Halliday.

Happy enough with this signing, we need another striker and sure he’ll pop up with a few goals.

Walker should be at Dunfermline/Raith capable of maybe popping up with a good goal, maybe a free kick in a Scottish cup game against a bigger team, that kind of level.

But I can't really be doing with watching his lethargic anonymous weak performances every week.

I mind the club quite quickly coming out with, "He knows your chanting Ngoo" after shouting his name.

Hope he can do the business for us but I’m entirely sceptical. If he hadn’t been spoken about as a target man I’d be more confident but I just think having a big striker in our team does more harm than good.

We will without doubt revert to shelling balls at him when things don’t go our way and it rarely ever helps to get us back in the game. It doesn’t look like he plays as a target man for them from the YouTube clip.

The plan is clearly to have someone up front who the ball sticks to in order to bring our wingers into play. That doesn’t mean hoofs just fast direct play hopefully. Boyce and Naismith aren’t capable of that.

Walsall deny they've agreed terms. Seems they're playing funny buggers though, because the reports are that he's agreed terms with us, which is allowed as he's got 6 months left.

I'd guess they're just trying to look strong as they've nowhere else to go as it's clear the boy is off. Maybe trying to get some other bids.

I think that's one of Boyce's main srengths, he has got a really good first touch most of the time and can bring others in to play.

He does it far too deep though and nothing comes of it. You need strength to do it with the Defenders up your arse. The boy from raith did it well against our diddy defenders yesterday.

Walsall are a wee diddy outfit who will be rolled over if the player wants to come here, whether they like it or not.

Out of contract in the summer. You'd think we'd sign a pre-contract with the boy if Walsall don't play ball.

Get him on a pre contract first then speak about what can be done to bring him to the club earlier when their hands are tied.

Good move from hearts. Savage will be the one dealing with this now.
