I think he's a quality player but I dunno how we can justify signing him. It would have to be a 6 month deal max.

Why though? It's not your money or mine. We've had shite players on 3/4 year deals in the past, he's good so he's worth the punt in my opinion, what's the alternative.. sign an unknown on a 2/3 year deal? Jezza

Because we could end up in the situation of relying on Henderson or the likes Laugh I don't mind a risk but his injury record so far is a shambles.

Gutted about this. Probably worth signing anyway. Even if we do sign someone else good they'll get injured for months at a time, it's just how it goes for us now. Guarantee if/when GMS starts firing he'll pick up a 'knock' and we'll see him again 4 months down the line.

I think it’s worth the risk, if you look at it he’s 23 and this is the first time he’s really been troubled with injuries

Just had a look at the rest of his career, it's a fair point.

Might just be a really bad run of luck. We'd find it hard to find his skills with another signing.

I was just thinking that about guys like Suso and Templeton in the past, people are always quick to slaughter these guys but they don't realise that you don't really get players like that very easily.

Next thing you know you've got Cowie and Moore on the flanks and wonder how it all went so wrong.

I am being unfair on Ginnelly but i'm just mentally scarred by the injuries in the past few years.

Aye looked at some interviews and it looks like the first one was a groin injury which we didn’t think was as bad as it was then he broke down in training, then it was Covid and finally a hamstring injury

It sounds more like bad luck than anything else

Hard to argue with his output in the limited time he's played this season.

I'd take the plunge as long as it's not a Naismith/Damour-type deal.

Yeah his twitter makes it sound like he won’t be back. Would give him a 12 month contract personally.

It’s not about writing him off it’s whether hearts specifically are in the position to take that risk.

We're in the position to sign Frear and Roberts without even touching on the array of duds that went before them so the answer is yes.
