Fuck it, here goes. I believe there is a small number of advanced civilisations in the universe who are in contact with one another, a larger number of "maybe" civilisations (us included) for whom it could go either way, and an even larger number of dead civilisations who killed themselves through war, disease or climate change before they were able to take the technological leap to ensure their survival.

I reckon we're being monitored and possibly even very gently nudged by these advanced peoples, but that by and by they have to just let things play out. Absolutely do not buy that we'd ever be attacked by an alien civilisation: if they've mastered intergalactic travel, diplomacy, and technologies we haven't even begun to comprehend, I reckon they're very unlikely to be motivated by getting rid of us.

I realise I'm setting myself up for a total ripping here like, but this belief at least gives me some comfort that it's not all completely fucking pointless  Warnock

I reckon you're closer to the truth than the so-called truth that we've been fed for years.
Even all the bible nonsense, probably has elements of truth.
Fallen Angels etc, more likely to be visitors from a highly advanced civilization than angels ffs.

I'm actually starting to believe Bob Lazar.
I think we have acquired alien craft.

I 100% believe there is life outside of humans on earth, it’s almost impossible for there not to be.

But I doubt we could even comprehend what form they take or the technology they’d possess to do it so I don’t really buy into all these sightings when they seem to line up with old sci fi films and that.  Like the “space crafts” that people claim to see or whatever are always very influenced by the image humans have created for aliens through films, books etc.

If there was legit aliens coming to earth I don’t think they would look like anything we could ever  imagine, yet the sightings always seem to be like wee flying saucers or wee triangle shaped space ships Laugh  I’m open minded about it to a degree but I can’t buy into these ideas of us being under constant monitoring or whatever.

If aliens had the capabilities to get here do you think they’d be getting picked up by shit tier, primitive (in comparison) technology like radar and that?   Current technology allows humans to go undetectable for the most part on these type of systems, I just can’t imagine a super advanced civilisation who were coming to earth to have a look would get caught Jezza

The universe is too vast and too old for there not be life elsewhere. By the same token, the universe is too vast and too old for civilizations to ever encounter one another.

I agree with the first part and instead of thinking that alien life is ridiculous, we should be searching for clues in space, just as we search for fossils, bones etc on earth.
The 2nd part is an opinion based on our current knowledge of science and physics.
It wasn't that long ago that the idea of the internet/smartphones etc would sound ridiculous, what if there's civilizations that are even just 1000 years a head of us, never mind 100'000 years ahead of us.

Far too many Nasa streams have been cut off just after something unusual has entered the picture.
Glowing lights, entering and leaving earth at high speeds, usually.

That’s just pure conspiracy theory stuff though, how many people would need to be in on the ‘secret’ to be keeping this from the public?

How many folk that have worked at NASA over the years, the run of the mill engineers and technicians who are operating these cameras and devices in space who capture these images and not one has come forward with cast iron proof that can’t be denied that we know this stuff exists?

It all relies on your average joe not having an explanation for something so jumping to conclusions and saying ‘must be aliens visiting earth!’ rather than one of the other thousand explanations it could be. I suppose it’s exciting to think that all this stuff is happening in the shadows and there’s a big thing going behind the scenes with governments all around the world where they keep folk in the dark about all the spaceships and aliens they’ve got in a bunker somewhere but I doubt it.

Physically, maybe, but we've only begun to scratch the surface of transcendental meditation, Earth frequency meditation, remote viewing and the like, all of which have been tested and found credible by the relevant US agencies. If these things are real and work, we can't definitely rule out more advanced forms allowing even more seemingly impossible things to be true.

We base our opinions on our knowledge of the universe, but it stands to reason that a far older and more advanced civilisation will know a hell of a lot more than we do, imo.

Maybe they're getting caught deliberately. A non-invasive way to say "we're here; sort your shit out and join us".

If they're 100,000 light years ahead of us they'd need to be within 100,000 light years to find us. But that means an area 0.000000000005% of the universe for it to happen in.

Nevermind the fact that theyd need to exist in the same timescale as us - 14billion years of existence versus a few thousand of recorded human history.

To say you agree with my first point but not my second means you don't understand. They're the same point.

Would you be inviting humanity up there to explore the stars if you could’ve watched them for 1000s of years? Laugh

I still think it’s looking at the concept of alien life through a human lens that they’d have morals or compassion or whatever as well, that they’d find us and instinctively want to help us. It’s just as likely that these peaceful folk have found us and want to coax us into joining them to explore the stars as it is they’re evil nazi alien cunts who want to destroy anything they come across.

Sounds a bit too much like a dr who episode for me Laugh

Don't really get the bit in bold tbh man.

Regarding morals and compassion and the like, the one thing we'd have in common with any alien civilisation is consciousness. The further you go into the exploration of consciousness and the metaphysical world, the further you get from destruction and disunity imo.
