My two cents:
I think Edinburgh council have came in with a safety first initial proposal that there should be approx 4 seats between every fan (council's priority is to keep infection rates as low as possible). Instead of Hearts providing a counter proposal, Budge has gone "yeah that sounds reasonable, public health is paramount" etc.. It's likely Motherwell drew up a convincing plan and took a much more pro-active approach in the negotiation process with their local authority, evidencing their ability to provide a safe experience for fans in attendance.

Quote:“ As was the case for our home Premier Sports Cup fixture against Inverness CT, the Club submitted a 'Physical Distanced Capacity' application to Edinburgh City Council. Our initial application sought permission to welcome 9,920 supporters into the ground. Seems as though there's different interpretations in play for outdoor gatherings going by each jurisdiction.

Seen quite a few folk make the very valid point that families have to be split up within the stadium yet Budge is sat beside her husband every game so far.

It seems St Johnstone fans need to reserve a seat too.
The difference is that they can reserve 1 ticket if they are by themselves, 2 if they are in a pair, etc. That seems to make more sense from an organisational point of view, but it's another team that ST holders have to 'opt-in', I suppose.

Seems the club have went down the route that there must be two seats between each fan. Even at Ainslie Park (yes, smaller crowd/stand), the stand's allowed to be a 60% capacity (which isnt two seats between everybody) and everyone files in and out the same bottleneck.
