The rhetoric has been proven right for a change.

I like this idea of creating a really small squad, keeping faith in some of the boys from last year and then just adding one or two as we go. Leaves space for youngsters like Pollock to push through too (hopefully Brandon recovers and keeps improving with games also.

If we can get rid of Roberts, Damour and Popescu and replace them with a couple more gems, then we would have a superb squad to push Aberdeen, Hibs and Celtic (fuck it, they are pish).

Kudos to Gordon, Souttar, Halkett, Walker, Halliday and Boyce who have all upped their levels at tail end of last season. Slight worry than Kingsley's levels have dropped, but generally our players are all getting better. If Haring could re-discover pre injury form then we'd be in an even better position.

We have at least found a shape that suits us. Need another defender in, though. If/when Souttar gets another injury, that's the whole thing knackered.

I thought Haring was quality when he came on, changed the game. He's generally looking more mobile and fitter so that's good.

I wasn't sure about Cochrane in the League Cup games but he was very good last night.

We'v got a decent starting 11 but we're 2 injuries away from being Motherwell. We need more in.

Cochrane kept Forrest quiet as fuck. Was impressed with Cochrane's defence abilities.

Less impressed with Kingsley getting rinsed by Ralston Monty LewLew

Haring is slowly getting there. Hope he can keep improving his mobility and his confidence in his own body.

Can't beat a tight knit team spirit though. Motherwell didn't get relegated, but we did with our bloated morale-less squad.

As long as the main players stay fit then why not chuck in some kids in SPFL matches.

I'm not against playing the kids, but are there any defenders that are close to ready, especially now that Hamilton's on loan to Arbroath?

Would be good to bring in a centre half agreed.

If this is the system we’re sticking with we might live to regret not pushing the boat out to beat Aberdeen to Declan Gallagher. Reckon we need another centre half and we’re now at the point where we’ll need to either pay a fee or take a gamble on someone unknown.

Seemed like a sensible option. Reunite him with Halkett too. for whatever reason it wasn't to be.

Gallagher Halkett Souttar with Gordon in nets the ever reliable Smit at RWB and Cochrane/Kingsley on the left would have been incredible. don't think we'd ever concede a goal.

I’d like to see another CB, winger and a striker good enough to push for first team places and I think we’d be pretty settled for the season.

Guys like Conor smith and Pollock should be used more this season as well.

RB and CB needed at the very minimum. I’d like to see us add another striker too.

We definitely need at least one more winger, if not a couple. You can’t expect any winger to play every week and we know GMS and Ginnelly have both had their fitness issues (someone mentioned elsewhere that Gino never seems to have 90 minutes in him even when fit).

Who’s next in line if one of them is missing as it stands? Roberts or Hendo? Monty LewLew
