They’re bringing in new rules to make VAR more effective, it’s an evolving technology and method.

You’re not going to change your mind so don’t know why I’m entertaining this but ultimately it’s a good thing for football and the more correct decisions we get the better.

I like VAR, dunno what cunts are moaning about.
It's exciting when the ref does the square shape with his hands and fucks off to look at something.

It appeals to people who like things like NFL and people who don't really care that much about football.

It appeals to me because we've got shite refs.

The refs are the ones who review the VAR anyway. It just means poor VAR decisions will be made instead of poor split second decisions Monty Oh Well

Not necessarily, If they get to see something again from different angles they may realize that they should have gone to Specsavers.

The refs have the ability to overrule VAR, which is exactly what they’ll do if they review a penalty/sending off they give for the OF and the video evidence doesn’t support it.

Changing the laws of the game to make VAR work sounds like the priorities might be the wrong way round, don’t you think?

Mind when they first started making all these rule changes 2-3 years ago AP et al were telling us the rule changes had nothing to do with VAR Monty Chuckle

Handball laws have always been poor and confusing, it’s just not been highlighted because VAR wasn’t available. Now it is they’re working to simplify it and make it better. Don’t see it as a bad thing personally.

The problem is the referees and the laws, not VAR. if they’re modifying and improving the laws and standard of refereeing is getting better because of VAR as well then what’s the problem?

Working to simplify it by changing and complicating them every season Warnock It didn't used to be an exact science but you knew where you stood, if the ref thought it was deliberate it was a foul and if it was accidental it wasn't. May Bee

You can't possibly watch the Premier League and think VAR has improved the standard to which the game is refereed?

Are more correct decisions being made? Surely that’s the goal :Jezza

There’s still the odd questionable decision but again that’s down to the referees involved rather than VAR.

Why do you watch football? I can't understand why folk get so hung up on 'correct decisions' it's ridiculous when you think about it. You watch football because you love the game and everything that goes with it but you want to turn it in to something different in the search for 'correct decisions' you're still going to get shafted and benefit from VAR.

No, the goal is for the game to be entertaining. It's sport, not a computer algorithm. Getting the cameras out to check whether a keeper was an inch off his line at a penalty or the ball brushed an elbow 60 yards away adds nothing to the game other than achieving the ultimate FIFA goal of total separation between the game you play yourself and what you pay to watch on the box. May Bee

We've all been talking about how entertaining the SPFL is this year with loads of well matched teams, but one of the main reasons it's so much better to watch than the EPL is the relatability of the league. Best and most unique 'product' we've had in years and people are rushing to sanitise it and bring it in line with the rest of the shite out there, it's madness.

It’s not as black and white as that man, if I’m watching a game and games are won by a goal that was clearly offside or a dodgy penalty/red card then that ruins the game.

I do get some of the complaints about it and don’t disagree with most of them but it’s something that is ultimately going to improve the game and get better the more it gets used.

I really don’t think introducing VAR to Scottish football is going to do anything to change the fact that it’s bat shit mental up here and take any edge off things. If nothing else it’ll probably add more drama and enjoyment to it, if you allow yourself to enjoy it that is.

Some folk just don't like change.
Usually, the folk that orders the same thing every time they get a takeaway and then moan about it being depressing.

Not if the decision is in your team's favour. Then it's a reason to gloat. It's part of the game.

Scotch football should invest in goal line technology and nothing else.

Nah Charlie would be sitting at home heartbroken at the moral injustice of it apparently. If a dubious decision goes in your favour you're buzzing, if it goes against you you're raging and it adds a bit of needle the next time you play that team. It's one of the most enjoyable parts of supporting a team surely Warnock

Suggesting it ruins the game is a bit different from sitting “heartbroken” but whatever suits you :Laugh

I get what you’re saying but how often is it happening the other way really? In Scotland the Old Firm get almost all the contentious decisions, even them out a bit and the league will be more exciting.

It’s not going anywhere, embrace change :Greggy
