Not immediately but look at how city played out.

They’ll probably start with picking up older guys who were class and still have a bit about them but otherwise probably would’ve went out to China/America or similar.

With the money these guys have they'll probably have them staying wherever they want and flying them in to training.

Fwiw as much as I hate the way football is going with these billionaires just buying their way to success, if there is any club that deserves their fortunes changed it’s probably Newcastle Laugh

Having Mike Ashley owning your club must’ve been one of the most soul destroying things ever. As Scott says dece city, folk are pretty sound and live for their team so I’m glad it’s them that will be up at the top and not some wee shitehole club like Norwich etc.

It’s a shite state of affairs for proper Newcastle fans that they’re finally getting rid of Ashley and this is who they’re ending up with though. A lot of their fans clearly very torn on rightly wanting nothing to do with the Saudis, but how easy actually is it to walk away from the club that’s been your life for 40+ years?

The Twitter fanbase and whatever the opposite of legacy fans are will be buzzing, but it’s a tough one for their traditional fanbase.

If nothing else, assuming they are successful with the money it’ll presumably massively change the demographic of their crowds. Shame for the EPL when they’re one of about 5 remaining clubs with an atmosphere Laugh

Think the traditional fans won’t give a fuck when they’ve got multi million pound players and pushing for the league tbh. There’s always going to be a small minority who say they’re packing it in but usually with these things folk moan about it all until it works for their club then they’re delighted because it almost guarantees success.

It’s like vlad with hearts. He came in and just started throwing ridic levels of cash at the club. I don’t think many people were bothered in 05/06 when we were watching a level of player we’d never got to see before and pushing for a title.

I don’t like that football is going that way but the genie is truly out the bottle so you may as well get on board if you want to compete with they top teams.

This is the kind of players they'll be signing. Players that were good once upon a time and their name still carries a bit of weight so Newcastle will through hundreds of thousands of pounds a week at them.

If the fans haven’t clocked on yet that the Premier League is a nonsense fantasy thing for obscenely wealthy people then they are a bit slow. This will eventually happen to every club in the league in some way or another.

There’s a difference between Vlad’s money and Saudi money though, which is ultimately the issue. Nobody’s suggesting that clubs like Newcastle can’t have some silly money thrown at them or that most clubs get their money from dodgy means, good luck to them, but this is blatantly money from a human rights abusing regime. It’s a watershed moment I think for the PL.

City’s owners have faced the same sort of shit for human rights violations in Abu Dhabi but that doesn’t stop them being the poster team of the EPL.

Ethical billionaires don’t exist, maybe it’s a bit different when you’re in a ruling position but with the amount of money these folk will put in folk will turn a blind eye to any of that.

Not saying it’s right, I just don’t really see how it’s much different from Man City and just see it going a similar way.

Sadly I don’t think it is to be honest, look at the World Cup being handed to Russia and the Qatar for evidence of sport washing and money talking.

The powers that be down in England will allow just about anyone to own a club down there providing they’ve got the cash, regardless of their background.

The only reason the Saudi Arabian’s were knocked back first time around was because they were caught out pirating EPL games from BeIN Sports and it was costing the EPL money as a result.

Amazing that once they stopped doing that they can get a deal pushed through in record time isn’t it?  Monty Umm

The EPL is going to become more and more of a fantasy league as time goes by, people used to say that they’d all be fucked if their TV money was withdrawn, but now the clubs are just rich countries playthings and a way to sport wash their image.

Greatest league in the world? I’d rather watch our league to be honest, at least it’s more real than all the fake shit that’s going to happen down there. Monty Oh Well

Morph's attitude to the Saudi takeover is very similar to his unwavering support for Underbelly. Is he hankering for a future events gig at St James? vladchin

but Wolves was a minging club anyway so there wasn't much change apart from more success.
