I think we are all already very well aware of what Starmer is there to do in the Labour party, nevertheless, Loach sums it up pretty succintly here.

Two adults working should be able to afford to be able to get a deposit and pay a mortgage. £15ph would just about cover that.

That’s a really strange metric to use.

Why do you think that?

I agree with what 2na has said tbh. A family should be able to afford a home.

It's both.

Wages are a fucking disgrace for the overwhelming majority of people and housing is increasingly out of reach.

It doesn't stop at housing though. Say we 'fix' housing - this will never happen - and people on £8ph can afford a decent home, it doesn't mean they'll be able to afford a decent lifestyle in a massively wealthy country.

We can not have millions of people working full time who are unable to live a decent life. What's the point if not?

If they upped the minimum wage to £15 an hour everybody would just ramp up their prices to cover the cost and we’d be in the exact same situation Warnock

The gvt aren’t going to make any attempt to make house prices lower because the entire economy relies on house prices going up.

The obsession with home owning is a very Anglo-Saxon dare I say Tory view of the world.

Allow local authorities the funds to build social housing. Not everyone needs to own a home.

If you make the minimum wage £15 then you’d imagine you would have everyone else looking to have a similar hourly rate bump don’t know if that just ends up with everyone in the same position as we were.

£8.91.

Imagine wanting workers to have a decent pay. It's a disgwace.

I'm sure Kash pays himself less than £15 an hour Monty Oh You

Having a go at folk for... wanting to buy a house  Warnock

£15p/h would be good but I'd imagine the lizard men that own big companies would find a way around paying it.
