That’s a shite situation man. Fat Cunt

I honestly don’t understand why anyone would do that to someone else’s car. I’d end up doing time for some scumbag if they went near my car.

I hope he gets caught, but given the farce that is Police Scotland he’ll no doubt never be found.

I must admit I was extremely disappointed with police Scotland’s response time but unless he’s never been in trouble before they will catch him,

we were told they’d have an officer on the street until at least 9am when the joyriders car would be photo’d and taken away on a recovery truck, went down at 7:30 to see no police and offending car moved whilst mines was left as it was half arched petruding into the middle of the road.

it was around 1.30am by the time we had given statements to them, I transferred the video of the culprit onto a USB pen and in the footage he clearly closes the passenger using both hands to slam it, hopefully his prints are all over the car and it can lead to a conviction, our car has just been towed away-I’m no mechanic but I’d be shocked If they don’t class it as a write off judging by the damage to the front and back, courtesy car is getting dropped off shortly.

The car parked behind me had the boot jammed out of shape and scruffs to the front, guy was telling me he’s in Scotland for his honeymoon as well. The car in front of him had the back bumper falling off, my neighbours car is as good as written off, another neighbours campervan looks fucked, another person asked for the offending cars details when I was collecting my stuff out the boot as his car had also been hit. All in all probably at least 30k damage done in a matter of minutes plus any legal matters and police time, and no doubt everyone’s annual premiums going up.

Sickening! I know I’m obviously a bit stressed and I’m not trying to go full Tory but something has to give with these types of crime to make people think twice about it.

To make matters worse I checked autotrader for similar VW’s with the same miles and spec(leather interior/heated seats/bluetooth sound system) and they were coming in around 2-3k more than what we paid for ours.

With you all the way on the part in bold, it’s clear that for offences such like this that community payback orders mean fuck all and are no deterrent.

Scumbag behaviour needs dealt with in a way that will make others think twice about doing the same in future.

Hekens I’m not sure what the answer is but if they had something to be scared of they would maybe think twice, personally I’d like to castrate the fucker given the way it has all planned out

I’m not 100% sure Morph but it seems likely, due to the bank holiday weekend I’ve been told to expect to hear back from the insurance assessor till late next week.

it looked like he drove into my car head on at around 40-50 mph, the front end is compacted and the bonnet is crushed, there was parts hanging down from the undercarriage at the back and my rear bumper hit the car behind so hard that it there back door has completely bent out of shape and won’t close.

I’m hoping with your wee one only a few months old the car seat was in the house and not the car? If it was in the car get a new one straight away, even if it doesn’t look like it’s taken any damage manufacturers won’t guarantee their effectiveness after they’ve been in a car that’s been in an accident even if they were empty at the time. We had to do that after a bus went through the wife’s car on her way home from work one morning

That’s a good point that I’d never even have considered Beniot but we always carry her back into the house in the carseat so thankfully it was upstairs,
Just walking home I saw my neighbours out syphoning a full tank of petrol from there camper before it gets lifted to the scrap yard, some amount of carnage on our street still visible i can only hope the wee fucker is caught and pays the price

Was going to go out for some drinks tonight, took a walk around town then went straight back home Warnock

I think that’s the busiest I’ve ever seen Edinburgh tonight, you’re basically walking on folks heels no matter where you are. Do they always have a big rugby match on the last weekend of the festival at murrayfield?

Nah. But the World Cup starts in a month so they’re playing extra warm up games to prepare.

I was through tonight and went to get the last bus back to Glasgow. Had to abandon it and head to Waverley, queue was winding round the bit at the bottom of the escalators and there were more people than seats on the bus. Waverley was absolute fucking carnage Dismay

Honestly like a World War Z type thing. Hundreds of people crammed on the platform, bodies everywhere of folk burst, folk arguing with staff/each other, police everywhere trying to manage the situation. Apparently 3 trains to Glasgow were cancelled and they were taking carriages off others, people crammed on carriages like they were heading to fucking Belsen Dismay Honestly an utter shambles Laugh How can you cancel trains and cut down carriages on a night like this? Warnock

Worst of all, I’d bought a ticket for my train on the way over just in case of any issues and they’ve opened all the barriers and have no ticket inspectors Sob

That sounds like absolute hell. The city isn’t capable of coping with the numbers of the festival on the last weekend as that’s when all the bank holiday cunts come up from down south I’m sure, never mind chucking a rugby game in as well.

Glad we just went home tbh. We were talking about it last night that the festival runs the risk of being ruined for everyone if they don’t sort out the overcrowding. If I was a tourist and went out in that last night I don’t think I’d ever bother coming back Laugh
