Mrs Acey and I went to Tesco at Hermiston Gait this morning. Glad that's over.

Went to Asda yesterday The police should be round people's houses and arresting cunts with more than two packs of toilet roll/hand wash and confiscating it back for the state :corbynyay:

A billion pounds' worth of extra food gone into people's houses in the last 3 weeks from normal. Greedy stockpiling bastards

Pull the ladder up, I'm onboard cunts.

You just know most of it's going to end up going to waste as well which just adds to the rage : should be rounding these cunts up and locking them up.

Greedy stockpiling bastards Surely loads of people are just buying a bit extra so they don't need to go to the shops tho? That seems sensible. I guess there will be selfish cunts but I still haven't seen anybody in person with an outrageous trolley. We're probably buying about 1.5x as much as we usually do so if everyone is doing that especially folk who just buy stuff on the way home from work every day is that not going to cause this? Seen some mental videos from America and even in England but just haven't seen anything like that here firsthand

My Mrs sister stays next door to ASDA at Ocean Terminal and the Q to get in before it opened this morning was right around the shop.

I saw two scummy mummy's walking through town yesterday with two big deep Iceland trollies overflowing with crisps, fizzy juice, tins and toilet paper but apart from that I've also not seen anything ridiculous. I imagine folk are just topping up their cupboards with a few extra tins. Fuck knows what's happened to all the soap and toilet paper though (03-21-2020, 02:37 PM)Charlie Kelly Wrote: My Mrs sister stays next door to ASDA at Ocean Terminal and the Q to get in before it opened this morning was right around the shop. No, people are being selfish and buying far more than they will ever use Also can you personally stop buying more than you need ffs. The queues in Morrison's were unreal this morning, by far worse than any Christmas I've seen there. Shelves picked clean in lots of key areas of the shop. Absolute joke.

I've been to the shops a few times, on Thursday there I was able to do the majority of it in a small scotmid and jumped into a big morrisons on the way home just to get the rest.
I'll starve before I'm up at 6am queuing for food like

Morph - I haven't seen people going overboard.
Also morph - I'm buying 50% more than I need

Folk who have never cooked a meal in their life suddenly stocking up on all the ingredients. So much fresh veg sold out that unless folk are banging out veggie stir fries, and putting massive quantities of extra veg into every meal, a large proportion of that will be going straight into the food waste bin.
It's bizarre though, all sorts of stuff gone, can't even get frozen berries which I put in the wee one's porridge every morning. No tinned tomatoes unless you go to a corner shop, which BTW around our bit have plenty toilet roll as well. Have stocked up a bit but not really much more than we usually do, filled the wine rack, but not even been able to buy the tins of pulses we usually do - all sold out. Not too worried but can imagine how stressful it is for some families, either get involved in these fucking embarrassing scrums at 7am or go without.

Tesco Stirling has been fine tbh. I haven't actually missed out on anything I've needed yet.
Haven't done any panic buying, but at this stage I don't really blame people who are. There's a kind of logic to it at this point - once you know other people are doing it, it actually makes the most sense to make sure you're stocked up. Even the argument of leaving things to make sure there's enough for the elderly or whatever doesn't really work when you know that what'll really happen if you leave it will be that someone else panic buys it. It's actually those of us who are still refusing to stock up because we feel a responsibility to others who are behaving irrationally at this point. Not sure if this is just my contrarian side coming out but I think there's something in this. Edit: when I say I've not missed out on anything I've needed at Tesco Stirling, I'm including stuff like tinned tomatoes and rice, both of which I bought (one tin of tomatoes and 1kg rice, as I'll be making curry tomorrow and need both for that) this morning. Got toilet roll, tea etc too. Maybe it's just that I normally go in the morning. People stocking up on fresh stuff is a weird one tbf. Either they have massive freezers or don't understand how stocking up works.

Just go to a 24 hour supermarket during the night. Nae cunt about and they've just filled the shelves up
Wouldn't be buying more than I normally would like cos I'm not a fucking weirdo.

Yeah I'm buying stuff now so I can bulk make meals rather than individual dinners every night. Also now having to buy stuff for lunches etc in the house. Don't really see the problem, I'm not buying 15 tins of tomatoes or 6 bags of pasta.
You do know the fresh stuff is all in good stock in most shops because folk are going for the tins and frozen stuff? At least all the shops I've been in the veg has been dece for soups/curry etc
