Condolences, I had the crispy shredded chicken earlier from the old trusty across the road, always does the job, what did you have?

Did your remember to order rice?

Frai rai is naturally added to the order, just not when you order online from some dodgy shitey Chinese out of town.

Ordered from a lot of Chineses in my time, in several different cities, and never once has fried rice been included by default. Must be a small town thing. Or Lewis is extrapolating his single experience and applying it to the world.

Went to Chaophraya for tea last night, service is getting worse and worse. Had to ask for our sides 3 times and they still didn't come so just gave up. Shame as the food is tremendous.

Never had bad service when I've been tbh.
Been like 3 times and every time the food has come pretty quickly. I just wish they'd let you book tables instead of only walk ups.

They do let you book tables? http://chaophraya.co.uk/edinburgh/#trBox
Food always comes fairly quick but just feels like the last few weeks/month it's really deteriorated. Was in for lunch two weeks ago and they brought the wrong dish out twice

Was at A'chailltainn again as some mates wanted to meet for lunch and booked there. Only one meat dish on the menu, i get that it's a fish restaurant, but it was £19 for a pork tenderloin which was pretty small. Pork tenderloin is a a really nice cut, but it's a fairly cheap cut really. They had some vegetarian spaghetti with pine nuts for £12 and "add fish of the day for market price" i.e. £8. So £20 for the fish and some pretty plain spaghetti. The pork was slightly too well done, but the flavours worked, kind of like the venison I had last time I ate there, slightly overcooked.
They had sold out of that much stuff it was a beamer for the poor waitress who had to come to us at least 5 times to update the "we don't have any more of the..." list. This was at 2pm on sunday BTW. The 'artisan' bread at £5 was made up of a few small brown rolls out the freezer. I get what they are trying to do and the cooking is pretty good, but all of the above is just shite. Just too overpiced I think. The wife really likes the place and her fish was lovely and she wants to support the whole barras art and design thing but I won't be rushing back to eat there. I don't understand when they only have one meat choice on the entire menu, then charging £19 for it. Trying to claim artisan bread (i.e. fresh from a decent baker) and bringing frozen rolls out and still charging a fiver.
