Season 3 of The Walking Dead was eye-bleeding. Andrea's storyline that season was the worst thing ever committed to film. Few decent episodes the season after but that stupid half-and-half season thing they do made me just pack it in. Picked up the most recent volume of the comics a while back when I had a Waterstones voucher, pretty decent
Not watched it yet, but you lot can't seriously be suggesting that the series with the governor etc was worse than Lori and Andrea arguing over who was to do the dishes in that fucking farm
Absolutely awful
It is such a badly written show, but I can't seem to stop watching it for some reason

The farm at least had the big payoff with thezombies and Sophia coming out of the barn, them leaving at the end and Shane's death. Obviously there was far too much filler but it was about worth it. Daryl was still cool back then.
The governor was pretty pish in season 3 tbh, the writers never seemed to nail down his character as either a charming bad guy or a complete psychopath. His episode in season 4 was very good mind.
I found that whole season torture: crushing boredom, far worse than anything in the prison, for episodes at a time, including the dreaded arguments about washing up; the writing SO bad that Dale basically became an omniscient presence who could see shit happening like he was in the fucking minority report; the Beth tries to kill herself storyline
You've got a point with the big events being crackers, with that one where Shane left the fat boy to get eaten, Sophia in the barn and the attack on the farm, but fuck me we didn't have to wade through some shit to get there. The third season was still pretty poorly written and Andrea is the biggest cornette in history, but they at least tried to pick the pace up a wee bit.
It's only made worse by having read the comics and knowing what the show could have been if they had just followed the source material a whole season at a farm ffs
Just starting season 5 of Walking Dead, the season on the farm and then most of the prison time was all nonsense. Still felt the need to keep watching though so they must be doing something right.
Not enough main characters get killed off for my liking though. Fully expecting to have spoilers flung at me now

Should be a decent shock at the end of this season
