Aye I watched the first series a few years ago and thought it was pretty crap. Guess that was the same with Breaking Bad though so probably due another go at some point

Just incredible tv, I'd agree it's better overall than Breaking Bad, though the high points of breaking bad are better.
Done that annoying thing where everyone is going to die but they all survive but aye fair enough it added to the tension and was well done. I thought the outcome with Eleven and One was shite tbh. Most scenes were fantastic as the budget was so high. Ending I just thought was terrible like, nae one bothered about Eddie dying na? I swear I've seen that whole situation with thinking they've won and it coming back 15 times
IMO they milked it by spending about 6 episodes focusing on character backstories, then a couple where the actual story starts to kick in, and crammed the finale with stuff to keep you hanging on for season 2 without any conclusion to anything from season 1, suppose that's standard practice but this could've been a neat 16 episode stand alone season, can see this going into 3 or 4 seasons similar to Lost
