State of the old banger I got given this week by the garage. Mint green and a 54 reg, smoke billowing behind me.

Fortunately for this high end car owner a like for like replacement is on its way.
One rental to replace another (in before Acey).
No rep, no problem

2 series on its way
No for the insurance claim to come crashing down around me as the old codger swears on the bible that I was at fault and my legal cover lawyer is of a similar standard to Acey

Had a recall for left hand side door locks. Took it in today for them to replace them. Just got a call "sorry we will need to keep the car in. We broke your window when trying to replace the locks."

16k which is more than a 12 year old motor should be worth but for whatever reason they hold their value and it's in the best nick I've seen of the TD5 before they started putting transit engines in them. I'll run it for a couple of years then hopefully get my money back

Your best bet is going for something with a small engine that is cheap to run and insure for your first year, and then change up accordingly, otherwise the insurance will cripple you as a new driver. Something like a Corsa, Clio or Polo would be my suggestion. |
