Would expect it would be like Spain. Always capped one level below the first team.

You'd need older players who'd be on higher wages otherwise you'd get bullied to fuck, and the younger players would be getting paid more as they're playing at a higher level. Moreover, these would be full time players and therefore would cost significantly more than players from league 2, which is what you said it would cost. A Colt team is essentially an amalgamation between an under 21 and reserve team with the distinct advantage of playing competitive football. The player costs should hardly increase at all, in Europe players under the age of 25 can move freely between the parent side and Colt team. Players such as Nowak and Norling could be playing for the Colt team and providing the experience you are talking about. The younger players wouldn't get paid anymore than they are currently receiving, it's just a different stepping stone to the first team. Putting a Colt team in hotels before a league 2 game, really? We barely do this for the first team! The additional cost of a Colt team in negligible and are far outweighed by the benefits.

....Also you could have a scenario in a few years in which our B team beat Hibs

In terms of a net cost, I'm not wrong.
Ah, the net cost. The benefits will bring the costs down to the level of a league 2 club. Maybe. I don't think so, but it's not impossible. In good years. Sometimes. Maybe.
But the benefits, if ever they exist, wouldn't be felt for several years. And budge said we wouldn't be attempting it right now as we have other costs to deal with, and you scoffed at that. Now you're saying that we should pay for it now in the hope that costs come down in a few years, despite the fact that we've other stuff to pay for. You're full of shit.

What are you fucking on about? The net financial cost of Hearts establishing a Colt team could be done successfully for a couple of hundred grand per annum.

We have enough diddy teams in Scotland without adding two more.

Twenty-Five sheets or a hot chocolate, TalkHearts and an online stream of the painful shite we'll have to endure

Hearts away games can get to fuck.

Best part of £30 on tickets and associated fees before you even sort your travel out for what is almost guaranteed to be an absolutely dreadful game. Why does anyone even bother?

Not been to a single away game this season. Normally try and get three or four in, but just can't bring myself to do it.

Best part of a 2 hour drive up there and £25 sheets.
No thanks. TBF it's a decent awayday if the game is on a saturday, easy on the train and plenty pubs etc, but with the 2 home games after christmas, all the bevvy and cash flying out the door at this time of year, can imagine most will pass. |
