They're already naff themselves. They want a return to broadsheet newspapers, they don't give a fuck about 4chan. In fact, brexit being ripped by lefties means they want to see it through just to piss them off.

It plays nicely into the idea that remainers are 'liberal elites' who sneer at 'the will of the people' if they can be made to spend their time sniggering at unprofessional looking social media output.
There's also the idea that more shares, clicks, and engagement = good. From that point of view, Brexit supporters would share these posts anyway, but remainers will only do it if they think they're making a zinger. We all also know about the rule the online alt right played in getting Trump elected - correlation doesn't equal causation and all that, but being too naff to be taken seriously was always a big part of their aesthetic. Does all of this work? None of us are in any position to say. But people whose job it is to influence election outcomes seem to think so.

So parliamentary limbo until Corbyn decides he wants an election?
Why should he hurrry? He knows his day in the sun will be over once he loses a GE.

How exactly is peston getting away with trying to make this the fault of labour. What an absolute shit tip of a country when the two biggest journalists peston and the daft Tory jock at the bbc are basically working as soon doctors for That fat tiff.

Not a fan, but he's pretty much correct. Corbyn has gone from wanting an extension, to wanting another referendum, to now, wanting a GE if Johnson agrees to the extension. He's like a pile of wet shite - gets everywhere but ultimately doesn't stick to anything. |
