Its genuinely ridiculous here in central south boomtown Fancy a snowday the morn but my gaffer lives out this way too. So no doubt if he makes it in, he'll be expecting everyone else to be in too

Might just be because of where I am, but this seems a lot worse than 2010. I don't know if the snow is actually worse, or if it's cut backs on councils meaning they don't have as many ploughs/gritters for this type of weather, but the roads here weren't as bad as this in 2010.
Got to agree with Shaun on a lot of employers. I got sent home at 2pm which was way too late as the roads were already a nightmare by the time I left work. It's fine saying weather like this used to be more regular and people dealt with it in the past, but the number of cars on the road and the number of people travelling further to work has increased hugely. In anything, after 2010 we should be better prepared to deal with weather like this, but it doesn't feel like we are. In other news, I'm about to walk to my nearest office and realised last night I don't own a single piece of waterproof footwear Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Another 10cm fell overnight here. Getting quite deep now.
Our scheduled flight from Edinburgh isn't cancelled either. No idea how I can get to the airport......

Apparently busses are suspended. But they are still showing on my tracker?

Only bus that is running is the 100.

No buses on today. Called into work and the gaffer said to keep him updated. Not even going to try and go in, there will be fuck all leaving the factory and there'll sure as shit not be anything coming in. Am I fuck risking getting stranded to go in and clean rollers and that. Snow day methinks

This is definitely worse than 2010 in Boomtown. Went to clear the path in the back garden and the snow was nearly at the top of my wellies. Some absolute tards still trying to drive up the street before sliding all the way back down.

15° and cloudy in this part of the world, it did snow a wee bit last week but never close to getting a day off.
Just the odd tsunami or earthquake to deal with

Most things that are wrong in Britain go back to the fucking Tories, after all. You've gotta love the idea that Britain is ready for Brexit when Britain always comes to a shuddering halt whenever it snows. Almost always, there's an incredible lack of gritting in time for when the snow arrives. Mind you, having experienced 2010 - when my flight to the US was cancelled twice, and I'll always be grateful to my landlord for having navigated an A40 which was so white, it looked like a scene from the apocalypse, to get me to Oxford station one Sunday morning - I then discovered the New Jersey authorities were just as hopeless at keeping the show on the road. There's so much short term, just in time thinking everywhere; so little preparation and investment.

Only things I have to worry about are sub-tropical cyclones, the occasional tornado... and the fingers crossed it never happens massive earthquake in the South Atlantic or West Africa. The risk, however small, is enough to ensure I'd never live at ground floor level here.
