I've just watched the full Stendel press conference from today and there is absolutely no doubt in my mind he is still working out what he is working with and I suspect remains shocked at the standard of some of the players. That we scored 5 goals and lost 6 in the last 2 games is frustrating him massively as so many of the goals against were avoidable and NOT because of the system. Amongst the morons of course it is being used as the narrative, that we are playing naively and his pressing game won't ever work etc etc when in reality individual gashness and sloppiness and of course the keeper has cost us far more than any preferred style of play.
That said I think he will be a bit more pragmatic over the next few weeks given the standard of some often payers and the fact he is having to use new players immediately, some out of position. Smith is a key key player for us as he recognises and he was the player who spoke at the press conference today - he trained with the team today. Wherever he plays over the next few weeks his influence will be massive.
For what its worth I'm totally confident given that we have started scoring that we will climb above BOTH St Mirren and Hamilton (at a minimum) in the coming weeks. We simply have way better squads and options than both and this will translate into enough points.
