There's nothing in the rules that can allow them to give Celtic the title let alone relegate us.

It's just shite to fill column inches and create a debate based off nothing.

Not only with they face a legal challenge from us, they'll face one from Rangers, Partick, Stranraer and Brechin.
It's a lot of rubbish, made up by Celtic-supporting journalists, desperate to fill their quotas of articles.

I mean it's not like the Scottish authorities don't have previous for concocting rules from nothing

Interview with the Edinburgh City chairman. Gives a decent overview and mentions he's seen proposals to make the Prem bigger:

There doesn't seem to be anything in the rules about cancelling the season either so they're going to have to set precedent with this situation. I was confident it wouldn't come to relegation but now I'm not so sure. And if they void the entire league they face fallout from pretty much every club, prize money problems, fans wanting refunds, clubs potentially going burst, tv deal issues. Think about what the path of least resistance could be, every outcome leaves it unfair for some clubs so what outcome has the least clubs looking at legal action? I think it's the one where we're relegated. Not saying it will def happen but there's a big chance imo

Think they'll be lead by whatever UEFA and other leagues decide, there's no way the SPFL lead the way here. If teams in other countries bin relegation and expand leagues for 1 year then they'll do the same, if any of them decide to end the season now with titles and relegations then I think they'll end up doing the same.
I have a feeling all they'll do is bin the league cup once the Euros have been postponed a year and then hope this clears up quickly enough that they can finish the season over the summer.

Voiding the league will see TV companies not to pay out money and get their cash back. Who are you more scared of? Budgie and Levein'a lawyers or BT Sport and Sky's lawyers?

English football is poised to lose £750 million in tv money. Contractually, these televised games now never happened (if it is voided). (03-16-2020, 09:40 AM)Currahee! Wrote: They can't just not pay. You'd think there would be common sense but I know a few folk that have cancelled their sports packages until this all blows over, I'm sure it'll be a recurring theme throughout the country. This will be a massive hit to them losing the PL temporarily. They'll be combing over the contracts so they can get any money back they can imo.

It's pointless having Sky Sports/BT Sport as there's nothing left to show live. Managed to catch some Super Rugby and Aussie football yesterday, but I think that's about to go into shutdown as well.

I'm going to phone up to cancel and hopefully get a great deal.

I'm going to get in touch with Sky and BT to stop their channels as well. Noticed BT have a monthly pass for £25 a month now and I'm paying almost £35 : robbing bastards.

The SPFL rules may not provide for a cancelled league, but you can be 100% sure that commercial contracts (e.g. TV deals) do. You can hire all the lawyers you want, but if a contract says “if X, then Y†then that's what'll happen if there's a dispute. The SPFL will not give the slightest fuck about fans wanting refund on season ticket money - that's a matter for the clubs, not the league. They won't end the league and relegate / promote clubs based on current standings - they're far more vulnerable to litigation by doing that.

I get that but what about all the money they've received from adverts? Do they give that back? It's a major clusterfuck that'll take some sorting out. |
