A striker, a defender, and a creative midfielder who can move a bit should be the priorities when the window opens.

Good thing Hearts have a strong track record for signing prolific number 9s.

Im sure we were linked with him a couple of years back

Feel he's a Drey Wright/Kyle Magennis type character. Distinctly average.

I agree, very hyped during his time with Motherwell, but given he's described as being “versatile†it means he's never nailed down a position. Would much rather try and sign Campbell from Motherwell.

He got injured while still at Motherwell and once fit I'm fairly sure he ended up playing more often at right back
Never got back to the performances from when he first broke into their first team

Hopefully he's a sensational failure

He seems to be well out of favour at Killie - its not as if they are doing well without him either.
Was starting for Scotland not that long ago as well - good signing for St Mirren.

Aye, it's more that he's decided to join St Mirren.
Wonder how much retail space they've rented out to Celtic to be able to afford that one.

St Mirren likely were desperate to get him whereas Hibs/Aberdeen etc just threw a wee offer at him in the off chance.

I'd have taken him at Tynecastle tbh, but doubtless he'd either get injured immediately or forget how to score goals if he'd signed.
A striker is an absolute must this window though, can't rely solely on Boyce all season.

He was miles out if his depth in the only game he played for Scotland. So much so that Oli Burke was a vast improvement when he came on to replace him. We definitely need another striker and he might have been a decent signing for us but if Aberdeen and Hibs are being priced out then he's probably after more than he's worth.

He had a good season under Clarke where the whole team performed well as a unit. He's had his moment.
