I stay on the border of the Bannockburn battleground.
Also have a metal detector. Found a fair few coins. Think it was about 11 and a half pence in total.

You used to be able to (well, I guess you still can!) find old pennies, ha'penny bits under the seaweed, tight against the longitudinal rocks scrambling around under the Forth Rail Bridge at SQ, if you were so inclined. No metal detector required.

My mums husband got one from his work after 25 years service.
He found an early 1900's penny near Arthur seat but bar that it's been nothing but abandoned matchbox cars and old juice cans, hasn't waned his enthusiasm tbf. He also mentioned bbc4's the detectorists as a great watch and then preceded to tell me what happens in the finale episode of season 1 which spoiled it for me

I was watching some 'expert' on youtube and he was saying that you should really spend about £500 on a metal detector if you're wanting a decent one.
His was over a grand. Noticed you can get them for like 50 quid on amazon.

Maybe he's talking pish.
£150 should do the job according to this lot. https://highreviews.co.uk/best-metal-det...tector.%20 Its interesting that they have different modes so that you can only scan for jewellery for example. That should cut out digging up old juice cans.

Aye, people find guns and knives all the time.
You've got to declare them to the police.
